Holy shit, has anyone seen this documentary?

It's like 3 fucking degrees outside, so we've been hibernating and watching Netflix. Thought I would offer a review of this recent doc. It's one of the most bizarre true crime stories I've ever heard.

Synopsis: Family moves to Idaho and befriends another family in the neighborhood. Husband of the new family immediately develops an infatuation with the other family's 12 year old daughter named Jan. He systematically manipulates the other family so he can come over and be around Jan as much as possible. He then comes up with a plan for blackmail material by sleeping with Jan's mom and doing homo stuff with the dad, so that way they would not interfere with his relationship with Jan, otherwise he would spill the beans. He proceeds to come over to their house and sleep in their daughter's bed 4 times a week for 6 months. He then kidnaps Jan for like 6 weeks and convinces her that she needs to marry him and have his baby otherwise aliens will destroy the planet. He then brings her back home, and the parents press no charges. The parents continue letting him see Jan, and the mom is still boinking him on the side. He then abducts the girl a second time but she later returns home on her own and he does just a brief amount of jail time.

Dude's relationship radar must have been highly calibrated to screwed up minds. I worked with a paramedic who had a relationship radar like that. He could sense a weak willed or emotionally vulnerable woman from 100 yards and would exploit that every time. So this guy must have been able to sense the father's homo proclivities, the mother's emotional estrangement, and the child's need for affection. The main spring in his radar must have just about shot through the front of the gauge from all that neediness. I suspect it is a form of sociopathy.

What's sad it that the parent's didn't give a rat's ass about their daughter. Their own needs were paramount.
