RED SOX vs. CUBS

Post by Jack »

This is one for the ages..

The Last time these teams met was....1918

The 1918 World Series featured the Boston Red Sox, who defeated the Chicago Cubs four games to two. The Series victory for the Red Sox was their fifth in five tries, going back to 1903.

.....

Babe Ruth won Game 1 for the Red Sox (pitched a shutout) and in Game 4, the Cubs finally broke the Babe's scoreless inning streak (going back to 1916) at 29 2/3. But the Red Sox won that game..

The Sox won the Series in 6 Games and

Until Now

These teams have not met since...

This is one for the ages.....

They've played in interleague before, haven't they?

Regardless, this is one of those fun matchups each year that interleague will give us. Oh, to be a bleacher bum at Wrigley this weekend...getting to watch drunk SoxFan and CubFan trading barbs back and forth...that'll be awesome.

I was surprised to find that considering how long they've had interleague play and they rotate the matchups each year. I would've thought they'd play each other atleast once every few years. Oh well...good to see them playing each other now.

Almost took a 1/2 day vacation day to watch game one. Glad I didn't.

Arroyo was awful bad. Wicked bad!!! Bullpen, hah! Much worse. I'm gripping. Major concerns re: the bully!
Fuck the interleague!

Props to the Cubs, but....Fuck the Cubs too!

Cub fan.... All hanging out drinking, singing, asking "Who won?", when you're all sauced....lost in the parking lot!

Rusch is pitching for Chicago on Sunday night, who on their hottest pitchers...I wouldn't put it past the Cubbies to sweep the champs.
