26 moderate House Democrats voted with Republicans this week to amend a bill requiring a background check for all gun purchases and transfers. Republicans used an MTR to add in a stipulation that ICE must be notified if an illegal submits an application to purchase a weapon.
Apparently Pelosi and the liberal wing (see Occasional Cotex) are livid and want these moderates to get on board. However, a good number of these moderates are the reason the Dems took the House this term and are saying they will put the voters of their district ahead of party.
Props to them for this stand. Here’s hoping they stay the course and more on team R join them.
Should also be more good theater watching Occasional Cotex and Pelosi melt.
