Zeppelin making a comeback?
No, not Led Zeppelin.

Interesting article. Makes a lot of sense.
Yeah, there is the whole bursting into a fireball thing to worry about, but making it fully remote control is simple. The jetstream provides a continous free source of propulsion for the US/Europe/Asia route.
I think we will definitely see this in the near future. It's just a matter of getting government regulators out of the fukking way. As with many other things in life.

Whitey saw this thread title somewhere in Heaven (hopefully) and smiled.

Use helium instead of hydrogen and no go kaboom.

Wind is still a big problem with any airship, especially lighter than air. Blimps (not rigid framed) have been fairly successful. Sup Good Year?

They can barely read as it is, why would this surprise you?
I'm surprised that helium is even available for retail balloons nowadays. Sounds like giving hydrogen another shot would be worth it.

The hot air that emanates from President Pantload's piehole could be a short-term alternative. If his tweets could be converted, we'd really be on to something.Screw_Michigan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 3:24 pmI'm surprised that helium is even available for retail balloons nowadays. If we could harness a small fraction of the hot air coming out of DC, our troubles would be over.Smackie Chan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 4:04 pmThe hot air that emanates from President Pantload's piehole could be a short-term alternative. Read the article.
Helium is hard to come by. Hydrogen is relatively cheap and lighter.

Re: Zeppelin making a comeback?
If Qatar would stop their diplomatic shit, they could sell all the helium they could produce.

Uh oh, cyborg War Wagon. This 'scientist' is quite clearly insane. File this idea under Domino's pizza-drone delivery service. The airships would operate autonomously — and would be loaded and unloaded by robots.

I laughed at the mile and a half long airship. The different forces across 1.5 miles makes this impossible.

With the aid of the rubber-band industry and enough bubble wrap, you're out of a job, Seater.
