I remember seeing a soldier on a firing range--
when his rifle did not fire, turned it around
and looked down the barrell--everyone including
me who saw it was waiting for his head to
disappear !!
Luckily it was a real "dud" and not a
"hang fire" (anyone need an explanation ?)
The range NCO promptly chewed his ass out !!
As a former NRA gun safety instructor,
you can't believe how stupid some people are--
the worst is when they do not look in the chamber
to see if there is a round in it after they removed
the magazine.
BANG
ooops !

Again, I don't see the gun aimed at Gore's head. I see it tilted to the side.

Notice how Gore is clearly leaning to the right?

Notice also how Gore's hands are both on the strap? Yet the gun barrel is clearly outside the scope of Gore's hands?
Brian, his elbows are nearly equal at his sides as his forearms make about an 80 degree angle in reference to the muzzle. If his head was completely cocked to the right as you claim, then a bullet would enter his parietal bone rather than what looks to be the frontal bone of his skull.

Also, your selector switch theory is false according to what all has been posted. It appears YOU modified it and not your original source picture. As we can't see the right side ejector port, there is no way of telling if its loaded or not. You were initially right about there not being a magazine in there, but that's all you were right about.

The weapon is not on "safe," IS on "semi-auto" (that's one round per trigger squeeze), and not on "full auto" as it would be relatively safer (but still not safe)as the M16-A1 with the short or even the 30 round mag discharges rapidly and that ejector port cover would be open within seconds.

So to recap:

1) You were right when questioning whether there was a magazine in when debating Derron.

2) You were and are wrong about every other point you've argued for.

He's really wasn't much of a soldier, missing from such close range and all.
