Researchers from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., said the amount of fat in and around the abdominal organs appeared to be a good indicator of a woman's heart attack risk in the study's participants, a group of women over 70.

Overall fat did not appear to be an issue, said the researchers, led by Dr. Barbara J. Nicklas.

Fat that accumulates in the abdominal organs is less obvious than overall obesity, but women with more abdominal fat are often described as "apple" shaped, rather than "pear" shaped. For the study, the researchers followed the health of women ages 70 to 79 for four and a half years.

The findings are a concern because people with an apple profile are at higher risk of developing conditions such as coronary heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and diabetes. Anti-obesity campaigners warned last week that measuring your waistline is a better indicator of health prospects than checking the bathroom scales. ...Apple shapes are defined as a waist to hip ratio of 0.95 and above for a man and 0.85 and over for a woman....

Actually, he wasn't like that at all. I should be disappointed, but I'm coming to accept my experiences here are not exactly the same as everyone else's. Again, I hope he made it up to Lovebuzz for doing that to her, for the wrong reasons. Abuse and fear for a friend is a big deal. Using those for personal gain, for spite, for vengeance is not cool. That's what's disappointing. Drunkeness is no excuse.

It doesn't matter what his reasons were. You don't call the feds, employers, etc. on someone from a message board that you've never met in real life FOR ANY REASON.
