We've had a few days above freezing now, enought to melt off most of the ice and snow from last week, but the Siberian Express arrived again this morning. It was like 41 degrees at 6 am, by 9 am it was 20. Currently 16 with a low headed down to around 11 overnight. The wind chill makes it feel much worse.

But at least there's no snow in the forecast and at least we're not in Iowa or Nebraska. Those frozen fucks have really suffered. Sucks to be them.

No flooding, but it's been pouring pretty good last couple of days, taking a break today.

But I'll take the 25-degree temperature bump that the storms bring. It was 53 late last night, which I'll take all winter long -- but it won't last. The 36-and-raining is coming in the next couple of weeks, like it always does right about this time of year.

From the sound of things, you're getting way worse than I'm getting. It's already starting to sleet here.

I thought the north east was the only place in the universe that doesn't have a waffle house planted at EVERY fukking offramp. As for the food, definitely good for 3AM, drunk as hell and need something greasy. Otherwise, it is shit.

Looking forwarding to waking up to seeing the snow covered with a few inches of snow tomorrow. Already told the kids to expect lots of sledding and hot chocolate.

Of course with all the fun of snow there's also self-induced panic of the idiots who think a chance of snow is grounds for stockpiling bread, eggs and milk. If french toast is the meal of choice when armegeddon happens and people are hiding in bunkers, I hope I don't survive.

This has been the most I can remember since the '78 storm....which i don't recall a whole lot of because I spent that storm at the CPO club on the sub base with all the liquor I could want and a good sized bag of red bud.

this storm was weird. generally the further north/west you go, the higher the totals. this was the opposite, you guys in SE Ct who usually see a lot of rain, got hammered. i'll bet the berkshires didn't get shit.

for those of you not from around here, the berkshires are what we refer to as mountains. and yes, dins, i know they aren't real mountains, but, they're all we have.
