The question is, do YOU agree? It's in the Constitution in black and white.
Yes, I agree that Missouri's sitting government disagreed
Then they disagreed with their own state constitution which is something they did whenever it was convenient to do so.

From Article 4 of the 1820 Constitution:
Section 5. The governor shall be commander in chief of the militia and navy of this state, except when they shall be called into the service of the United States;
Once again both you and the confederate traitors in the Missouri state government of time have been nailed as lying hypocrites.

Unconstitutional act #1: Refusing a lawful summons of state militia to Federal service.

Unconstitutional act #2: Using the state assembly in an unlawful attempt to withdraw Missouri from the union.

Pretty poor track record from people who professed to be such sticklers for constitutional niceties. Of course they didn't really mean it. They just meant for idiots like you to believe it.

Why do you do this?

Do you have some fetish for having your pants pulled down in public and being exposed for the lying fraud that you are?
...for the second time, because mvscal was too fucking retarded to have read it the first, Truman wrote:
From wiki

...Jackson, Price, and their staff promptly returned to Jefferson City where the Governor issued a proclamation declaring that it was still the duty of all Missourians "to obey all the constitutional requirements of the Federal Government" but also that they were "under no obligation whatever to obey the unconstitutional edicts of the military despotism" and its "wicked minions," referring to Lyon, who he said should be driven from the state...

Missing – of course – from your obfuscation is any mention of the question of constitutionality of the murderous attack perpetrated by Lyon upon a peaceful state in the first place.

As for Missouri’s duly elected General Assembly illegally withdrawing from the Union: What part of Missouri no longer recognizing the United States as its Federal sovereign defeats you? Being chased out of your Capitol by a murdering psychopath representative of a rogue government that picks and chooses from its own constitution does that kind of thing to you.

We can go 90 pages deep, mvscal. You keep posting lies, and I’ll keep making you look stupid. Your choice.

Four-year-old-esque kicking-and-screaming rant of "You're melting" in 5...4...3...

Other than the fact that Missouri did no such thing? The Missouri State Constitutional Convention rejected secession. Not an opinion, not spin, not twisted rationalization just a stone cold fact.

The fugitive confederates who assembled in Neosho had no legal or constitutional authority to withdraw Missouri from the union. Again not an opinion, not spin, not twisted rationalization just a stone cold fact.

The only people who were "picking and choosing out of their own constitution" were Claiborne Jackson and his fellow traitors.

For any Civil War buff and/or gamers in general this is an excellent game Civil War game from the grand strategy level. The learning curve isn't exceptionally brutal if you have played any strategic war games before.

For any of you CW buffs with an iPad, the History Channel came up with an app that sends you a newspaper (The Civil War Today) from April 12 2011 to June 2015 that allows you to re-live the daily events of the war. Someone was thinking ahead...

Too bad it is the "History Channel" sending the paper. It will probably have articles on how Robert E. Lee was an alien and how J.E.B Stuart and Stonewall Jackson were the fulfillment of ancient Mayan prophesies.

Generally, when an elective body goes to such extremes as to vote to sever ties with its federal authority, one might reasonably conclude that, yes, they no longer recognize the United States as its sovereign.
mvscal wrote:The Missouri State Constitutional Convention rejected secession. Not an opinion, not spin, not twisted rationalization just a stone cold fact.
Correct, marcvscal. The Missouri Constitutional Convention rejected secession 23 days before South Carolina fired on Fort Sumter. Not an opinion, not spin, not twisted rationalization just a stone cold fact.

We’ve been through all this shit before ad nauseum, Loser. What the fuck is your point? That vote went out the window the moment your psychopathic ancestor Lyon declared War on the State. Try-as-you-might, you cannot revise history to prove any differently. Your boy fucked up, attacked the state, and 150 years later you’ve been left bleeding out of your rectum trying to justify his actions.
mvscal wrote:The fugitive confederates who assembled in Neosho had no legal or constitutional authority to withdraw Missouri from the union. Again not an opinion, not spin, not twisted rationalization just a stone cold fact.
Fugitive? Try escapee. Other than the fact that the General Assembly was duly elected by the state’s citizenry and was the sole ruling body that could provide the constitutional authority to allow a Constitutional Convention to assemble in the first place, you might have a point. But, as usual, it’s clear that you’re not about to allow such nettling legalities get in the way of a perfectly good lie.
mvscal wrote:The only people who were "picking and choosing out of their own constitution" were Claiborne Jackson and his fellow traitors.
Jackson didn’t write the Ordinance. He merely signed it into law. BTW, how’d that Jackson treason trial come out again? Hung by the neck or burned at the stake?

Not your day, Loser, and certainly not your thread..

What’s with this extremely long-winded discussion of...Missouri? It’s just fucking...Missouri. What does that state produce any way, besides a little beef and pork, as well as some mediocre smack-talk? Whether it was burned to the ground 150 years ago, or leveled by a tornado last week, it’s fucking Missouri. We could repopulate it in a week with a bunch of Mexicans and have a much more productive state that probably speaks better English. Enough already.
