Does McD serve Seattle's Best Coffee in your towns? When I left San Diego in '98 they were serving some battery acid-like stuff. I didn't have it again until I moved to Seattle, and SBC is what they serve here. I don't know if that's because the PNW's coffee standards are higher than the rest of the country, or they just swapped nationally during that time.

Total crash and burn.

Hadn't tried a soda, fries or burger in eight months. The last time I gave a soda a go it was just a sickly sweet fizz that tasted nothing like it should. It wasn't sickly sweet tonight. It was just straight carbonation with a hint of caramel. At least it wasn't disgusting. So, some progress there, I guess.

Couldn't taste the fries at all. I could sort of sense the saltiness, but really the ketchup was all I could taste.

The burger was absolutely useless. I couldn't do a damn thing with it. Just chewy, nasty paste. Three small bites in and I was already ditching the buns and just trying to eat the cheese-laden patties, and even that proved worthless. Ended up throwing everything away.

People, give thanks for your taste buds and salivary glands. You have no idea how awesome they are until they're gone.

Fuck.

No shit. Here I am again, eating a bowl of bland granola cereal simply because it's one of the few things I can manage. I'm staring at this one floating raisin, and it's really pissing me off.

Disturbing that this crossed your mind during a discussion of fast food.

There is nothing wrong with it in an institutional setting. It's good, lean protein and inexpensive.
It tastes like chemicals.

I know it's spelled Naugles'. Like I said, it's IE born and raised. I was just going with the pun.

(And promptly when I said it's long dead and gone, apparently somebody's trying to get it started again. The OC Register found a fan Twitter account trying to lobby for it. No idea if that's anywhere near likely to happen, but it wouldn't suck if it did.)
