I thought what I've been DVRing at noon on Fox was a newsanchor doing news. Nice to see you admit to one of the 8,566 mistakes you have made since getting your nic back.

I have always held some news people in higher regard than others, but I expect far more from them for that respect. Brian Williams was always one of these people. The broadcast network news folks for the most part were included here and a few cable guys like Blitzer. Katie Curric being an exception.

I expected far more of them than I did/do a Bill O, Al F, Rush, that Maddow guy, etc who are entertainers, not news people.


Real news died when radio decided they could make more money by having someone in Peoria "read" the news for 50 different stations in different markets.

All this mainstream media vs. Fox wouldn't be necessary if ABC, CBS, and NBC just reported the news and didn't editorialize what stories get coverage and which ones don't. The fact that they check to see what the others report on and respond in kind just gives you three versions of the same thing. Case in point: The politicalization of the IRS scandal where conservatives were/are being targeted by a weaponized Federal tax agency. Had they covered it-- along with myriads of other stories buried or ignored --Fox News wouldn't be necessary. But due to the blatant leftward editorial slant of broadcast news since Walter Cronkite left and the unashamedly left leaning CNN (ever since the first Gulf War), there has been a vacuum in news reporting.

On a related rabbit trail, this brings back the question asked here before: Why hasn't any of the Big Three consciously decided to turn rightward and compete with Fox?

But to get back on point, the success of Fox is only because of the Left's stranglehold on the media, schools, and the entertainment spheres. Fox proves it in news, the push back against Common Core demonstrates it in education, and American Sniper is evidence of it in the entertainment field. The liberal coastal elites continue to ignore it at their own peril, hence the 2014 mid-terms.
