But top 10 is very exclusive territory, and I am not at all sure he has 4 rings (or even 3) without K. Durant.
That’s a pretty lame statement. None of those players ever won a championship without their teammates. Curry has two rings without Durant, which is two more than Durant has without Curry.
Curry makes everyone around him elevate their game. He was man enough to blend his game with Durant’s without ever bitching about not necessarily being “The Man” all the time. Whatever it takes to win.
A lot of people were predicting that the Nets would go all the way this season. Remind me where they ended up?
Magic never won a ring without Kareem. Kareem only one without Magic. And in ‘71 he was playing with Chamberlain, Baylor, West and Goodrich. The “Showtime” Lakers are one of my favorite all-time teams in ANY sport, but don’t forget there were a few other HOF players in that group. Wilkes, Worthy, McAdoo…
I am not seeking to knock Curry.
I think my statement was realistic.
Durant was the finals MVP in both 2017 and 2018.
And when the Warriors won in 2015 Steph was also not the finals MVP.

I don’t know what your “top ten” list is here. Best players? Game changers? Whatever, if the transition was movement away from peach baskets , you’re prolly excited by it.
Game changers:
MJ
Magic
Russell
Wilt
Jabbar
Bron
Big O
Kobe
Steph
Shaq
West
Larry
Many great players, some of which have been mentioned, but not necessarily game changers.
I cited Chris Broussard's "Top 10 Players of All-Time."
People can slice that however they want.
You listed 12 players.
:)

As I have stated before, and backed it up with stats, Michael isn’t even top 5. He is somewhere in the 6-10 range.
You don't need to post the stats if you don't want to, but what is the gist of the argument that Jordan is in the 6-10 range?
He holds no major records and isn’t even the best scorer when that was supposed to be his thing. He doesn’t have the most rings and winning was supposed to be his thing. He quit on his team and again winning was supposed to be his thing. He is below every “great player” and about 100something other dudes in rebounds, hell Kobe has hundreds more and being better than Kobe was supposed to be his thing. Magic, Lebron, Kobe, Bird and even Kareem have more assists and Wilt lead the league one year just because people said he couldn’t and being better than those guys was supposed to be his thing. He couldn’t win till a bunch of guys left the league but being dominant in his era was supposed to be his thing. The more I think about it, I’m probably being generous saying 6-10, and always being right is supposed to be my thing.
This is an interesting post.
To Jordan's credit, he was the finals MVP every time he played in the finals.
6 for 6.
He was the NBA scoring champ 10 times.
Believe it or not, Kareem was the scoring champ just one time.
LeBron, just twice.
You didn't mention defense, and Jordan was, unlike many superstars, a GREAT defensive player.

Leaving Cousy out is like cutting Laver from the tennis top ten, and that's simply bullshit.
I should have had him on my "11-17" list.
I watched a couple of Cousy videos on youtube a while back and it was a trip.
Doing shit like dribbling through the paint and tossing up hook shots that banked in off the glass.
lol
But yeah, he was great in his time.

That Jordon won 6/6 finals MVPs is like my total point, he was popular without being very good. That he won 10 scoring titles and isn’t the number one, or two or three or even four is also my point, he wasn’t any good till the great players left the nba. He was a better defensive player than most and he still isn’t the steals leader. Thanks for making my point for me.

Having the most (or a lot) of steals is not THE defining mark of a great defensive player.
I don't know how someone wins 6 NBA Finals MVP awards (in 6 tries) and leads the league in scoring 10 seasons while being "not very good."
I think your strongest points are that he "quit" on his team for a couple of years, and that earlier in his career he did get beat by Larry and the Celtics and Isaiah and the Pistons a few times when it really mattered.
But nobody wins them all.
The guy is one of the legends.

Defense involves more than steals, obviously.
Winning championships is important.
MJ won championships.

Blah blah blah. You sounds like a child. Lots of people won more. Steals is a metric. If you had an actual take you would have puked it up by now.

Yes a legend. I think that’s what 6-10 out of thousands means. Not #1 (or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5) to anyone who likes facts over feelings.

Bob Cousy
Beginning at about 1:10 of this video there is a compilation of Cousy hook shots off the glass.
That's how it was done back in the day.

Thanks for sharing that video, Dan Vogel. I agree with Rick and he's absolutely right about moving screens, too. Drives me nuts not only how every single screen in a moving screen nowadays and that they're never called.

Fwiw, I do not have Steph Curry in my top 10.
Best distance shooter ever, best 3 pt shooter ever, terrific ball-handler, great teammate.
But top 10 is very exclusive territory, and I am not at all sure he has 4 rings (or even 3) without K. Durant.
Let's see what he does in his remaining years.
1. Jabbar
2. MJ
3. Russell
4. Magic
5. Larry Legend
6. Wilt
7. LeBron
8. Duncan
9. Dr. J
10. Kobe
11. Shaq
Hakeem
Curry
J. West
The Big O
K. Malone
M. Malone
(in some order, or thereabouts)
Yesterday's game helped Curry's cause.

Dropping 50 in game 7 was pretty damn impressive. Next up - Warriors vs Lakers. This is actually the first time these two old rivals have met in the playoffs in 30 years.

All four remaining matchups are good, as long as Randle (Knicks) and Embid are healthy.
The first round upsets have added a bit of surprise, though not as much as the NHL.
Bruins and Avs losing were bigger upsets than Bucks and Grizzlies.
