Holy fucking shit.

Nancy Pelosi suggests that Biden should be added to Mt Rushmore.

Yeah. I know.

Rack San Francisco's Pelosi for trolling the MAGA's.

It's too easy.

Too funny.

I would suggest she may have inadvertently wandered into the southeast and her brain melted from these brutal temps.

On a different note, in all seriousness, m2, don’t come down here for your Bears vs Auburn game. Those of us who have spent a lifetime here are being beaten down by this heat and humidity. I’ve heard ultra-conservatives whispering that there may be something to this global warming nonsense. 😀

I was trying to decide whether to go to the Auburn game or the Florida State game.

Or maybe just stay in air conditioned condo on the Gulf and go to both. I think they're a couple weeks apart. What are they, a couple hours apart from each other?

200 miles.

As far as time, you gotta consider that we have no paved roads down here. Conestoga wagons are slow.

That's ok. I'll be taking my helicopter. Is it cool to land in the fields? Hopefully I don't land on any of our voters that are picking cotton there.

Hey Sam, I recently learned via conversation that Elvis lived in a "shotgun house". I was intrigued by this architectural term, so I had to look it up.

Image

Never heard of such a structure before, and apparently they're all over the south; and a search revealed that they may be found here in Maryland and DC, but I've never seen 'em. I guess you've seen these in your travels. Ever been in one?

Oh, and m2, you sure you want to continue taunting a demographic that glosses their dwellings shotgun houses?

They’re still around, yes. I lived in one when I was 22-23.

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"

All y'all just take a moment, breathe, and think about how much you have to be thankful for.

We have the luxury of having the time to curse and argue with internet strangers on this message board. Among many other things. We are lucky.

So many people are just trying to get to the next day and are not sure where their next meal is coming from. I just got off the phone with one such lady and her family. I hope I was able to help, but I don't know if she has the capacity to reach out to the places I provided to her. Damnit.

Sure. And strap your surf boards to your helicopter. If you Really had one, you would sell it and use the funds to flee from your fucked up city.

I don't mean to complain and I realize how fortunate I am, for many reasons. But the pain going down my right leg to my toes is cruel at this point. I took a percocet earlier but it didn't even touch the pain. I'll go home soon, double up on meds, hit the hot tub, and hopefully be able to fall asleep.

You need to lift weights to get blood flow back to your joints and muscle.

Nothing is better than strength training for chronic disease. Even if it's light weight.

Put the pills away.

Mr. Olympia is this weekend, finals tonight. Probably will come down to defending champ Derek Lunsford, Hadi Choopan, or Samson Dauda.

Pulling for Derek because he's the American, but Samson is just massive and cut, I think Samson wins it.

1st Samson Dauda
2nd Hadi Choopan
3rd Derek Lunsford

A high school friend was a body builder, Rob Schuh, amazing drummer as well. I remember him every year at Mr. Olympia. He never made it that far, it killed him like so many others, his liver or kidneys went out I think.

Spent all day assisting with early voting. It was wonderful, but physically I'm wiped out. I hurt so much that I have body quivers, kinda hard to describe but it really hurts. Hopefully meds and hot tub will help, but there's a real chance I'll be in the er later tonight.
