Damn, us SoCals almost forgot there was a winter this year since it was in the high 60's to mid 70's up until the end of November. RACK.
I was having a great extended summer surfing the Carlsbad and La Jolla breaks until December came and fucked everything up. Fuck winter.

Yes, indeed. Fuck those frosty mornings that impede on those frigid follicles. Best upgrade the gel to the viscosity of Mace's floaters.

My "position" had absolutely nothing to do with the weather, hypothermia, or anything else even remotely related to this thread...but had
everything to do with you sucking cocks. Carry on, you little twatlipped cocksucker.
Oh I get it. I doesn't matter what has gone on in the thread you still have a hard-on for me. Nice to know I've upset you so.

Misleading article.
While their featured mountains are indeed putting up better numbers in the early season, statistics don't neccessarily tell the whole story...
With all of the snow in the lowlands, the idiots didn't need to trek to the Cascades to find their Unholy Grail. We racked up a few right around town... a sledder not getting stopped before a busy road; a drunk dude busting out his sand-dune eqipped quad in the snow, and hitting a tree at like 100... people tubing at 50MPH behind vehicles...
The Metro area dipped into Mt Hood's pool of candidates this year.
But don't give up hope -- it's early yet. Things usually don't get too bad until after the New Year, and at resort-level, they're already flirting with a 10-foot base, going into the meat of the snowfall season. Despite the slow start, with a foundation like that already built, Chucky will surely use Hood as one of his favorite winter season tools.
I think Rainier has rack up a couple so far.
And remember, there's numers behind the numbers with Hood -- besides climbers/hikers/skiers/boarders, there's the auxiliary-kills -- there's always going to be Drunk Fuck who thinks he can drive 60MPH over Mt Hood during a blizzard... the rest of us know that you can't keep a car on the road during a whiteout with 70MPH winds... but not the Chosen Tards. While thosedeaths simply get chalked up as "highway fatalities," it's still all about The Hill imposing its will on the bottom end of the gene pool.
Hell, I-84 through the Gorge is a little behind schedule. I think they've only pulled a couple of cars out of the Columbia so far during the very-regular ice storms in the Gorge. More ice/freezing rain there, and it's get on track to fill its quota. Not sure which is worse -- the Cascades in a blizzard, or the Gorge in an ice storm. Both are pretty much taking your life in your hands, although the Gorge route east is at least flat... except for the sheet of ice and the near-constant-in-winter 70MPH wind gusts blowing cars across said sheet of ice, and the frequent rock slides on to the highway during said freezes.
Actually, I need to have a fairly lucrative reason to take either route in winter... which I did last winter. And I got my lifetime's fill of driving through remote places in whiteouts, really. That shit ain't too fun.

Avalanching snowmobilers are bonnafide winter mountain kills, dins. These will increase the canuck strength of schedule ratings. But when ricky goes watersking on a tube behind his brother's elcamino, that's just white trash being white trash. That kinda shit can happen in south dakota. It's like SEC team playing upstairs law school JV (at home, of course) and calling it a good win. It just isn't right.
So, until I read about snowmobiler getting avalanched in a mountain pass, rather than T-boned in downtown portland or a mountaineersicle digging into his snow cave till say, july, you can save it.
Being a good american, though, I am rooting for you guys. Amerrica should not lose to canada at anything.

Darwin only gets 1/2 credit on these. Sledder Dude was 61 years old..sliding down his own driveway....so he likely had procreated and allowed his mutant spawn to enter the human race...look for follow up on his kids and grand kids over the next 10 years or so...
Quad Dude was 52...but he was intoxicated so Darwin is scored an assist there...but he also likey had spread stupid genes around, so we are assured of continued fatal behaviors to read about....
Not exactly a snow tubing accident...but the principle is the same

61 y.o. dude did himself on a sled? was it a flexible flyer?
that's awesome.
if he was still young enough at heart to go sledding , prolly with the grandkids, at that age. he gets a rack.
50 y.o. drunk on a quad? not only does chuck not get the assist, i would charge him with a personal foul for not taking this fukk out at 12.
bottom line is, we are well into the second quarter and the much hyped cascade winter squad has yet to put any points on the board.
Maybe they can regroup at half time and have a good february/march. Maybe even score late on some unsuspecting spring skiers.

I don't know here...these mutants may have ultimately offed themselves one way or another...but since the winter weather seems to be a major contributing factor here..we have to give some credit for Darwin creating a chain of events that did result in the removal of the morons from the gene pool.

IIRC from the news, it was dude's young son he was sledding with.

Not even. Don't lose hope -- the Cascades don't really start piling up the snow and getting nasty as a general rule, until after the new year. In fact, there's some pretty fat snowpack for this time of year, and the big storms should really get rolling soon (as we begin the gradual warmup "down here").
And while Chuck didn't put points in the boxscore, he's dishing out assits like John Stockton on Spokane-made-meth. Yesterday was the busiest day at the ski resorts yet, and Mother Nature-Darwin opened the flood gates, and dropped a landslide on US26, the route from the lower valley to Mt Hood. The alternate route up the mountain was a sheet of ice, and...
Go ahead and finish the story yourself. Got at least a couple... along with the woman who braved the floodwaters of the Clackamas/Eagle Creek...
They fished her out this morning.
Who needs the Cascades, when the interior vallies are doing such and outstanding job in the preseason? Let's just rest up the volcanoes until crunch time.

Dins,
Just wait for a sunny day to get the ill-prepared wannabe mountain climbers out on the mountain. Nothing better than dressing lite for a sub-zero nite spent out on a frozen rock.

I think Darwin gets credit for the triple fatality on Hwy 35 at Parkdale. The qualifying reasons:
Geo Metro was the death vehicle.
Ice on Hwy 35 at Parkdale (elevation3600) in January.
Excessive speed on ice.

yes, chuck is definitely getting his in the U&L this season.
rack him.
now, if the cascades would bother to chip in, chuck could really have a good season. He's certainly overdue.
