I saw him at the hotel where I work a couple weeks ago.
I watched him play live during Golden State's first NBA Championship... where they beat a heavily favored Washington Bullets team... and swept them.
Rick Barry was the best pure shooter I've ever seen.
he won the 1967 NBA All-Star Game MVP award with a 38-point outburst and led the NBA in scoring with a 35.6 point per game average — which still ranks as the eighth- highest output in league annals.
This... before the 3 point shot...
Simply, Unreal.

Probably the best pure competitor in NBA history. I catch his interviews on 680AM and he is always talking about what it takes to win. He has no fucks to give when it comes to what other people are doing. It’s all about what can I do inside the rules to win.

My first NBA game was in 66 or 67 (67 I think) against Chamberlain and the 76ers at the Cow Palace (in Daly City, BTW) during a season when the Sixers were pretty close to unbeatable and the Warriors were fairly mediocre (IIRC). Barry had given a clinic at a summer sports camp I went to and handed out ticket vouchers to all the kids. So my dad and I went to see the game. Barry scored something like 45 points and the Warriors won by around 25.
That’s a great memory.

I’d love to see someone go Old School and start shooting free throws underhanded again just for old time’s sake. For most professional ball players it certainly couldn’t hurt their already abysmal free throw average.

The Warriors being down 3 starters... should make this series fun.

That was fun.
The Raptors got some nice home cooking.
That won't last... after what has been going down all over the internet.
Still... fun to see for Lebronto.

Home cooking... can't stop the Gods.
I haven't seen the NBA try and give a game to a team (Toronto) in the NBA Finals... since game 1 of this series. The NBA should be embarrassed.
By the way... this is the worst announcing crew in all of sports. Jackson is still bitter that Kerr has gotten 10 times more out of this team than he did.
Off to the most beautiful Metropolitan place in the World... for game 3.
Getting Iggy... with it !

It’s looking bad for “the greatest team EVAH!” Down 2-1 and losing on their home floor. Doesn’t smell like GOAT to me. Smells like... skunk.

Television ratings are awful too. It was a 12 year low for a Game 3 Finals. We could attribute that to Canadians or no LBJ or just that the game has become politicized with athletes declining to visit the White House after winning a championship, but whatever the reason the NBA can’t be very happy about this.

3/5s of the home team's starting line up were out. It was a foregone conclusion. That's why ratings sucked.

So what you’re saying is that the 12 year low in television ratings is caused by America’s past history of slave ownership? Because that seems to be at the root of all our problems according to you three chuckleheads.

A Canadian team could draw big ratings for an NBA final if they had big star power.
K. Leonard is a fabulous player, but he is not a star in the consciousness of the general population.
L. James is a huge star and he's been in the finals forever.
He is missed.
Curry is a big name, but he isn't L. James.
Hence, lower ratings.
Has almost nothing to do with politics, imo.

I'm surrounded by retards.
Since I'm the only one on this board that is from a city that makes money... let me help you out with how the "ratings" work.
They DON'T !
75% of all viewers now... watch the game on the "internet"... NOT cable !
The ratings NEVER see those viewers.
This series is setting records around the world... and Canada has NEVER seen this much viewership in their history for a sporting event... and it's not a hockey game.
Basketball is taking over the World... as the #1 Sport.
Adding China and India... this has been the most viewed sporting event in history...
That being said... God Klay will be making an appearance in Game 4 in the most beautiful metropolitan area in the World.
Let the games begin !!!

I don't doubt that Canadians are tuning in.
On what do you base your "setting records around the world" and "most viewed sporting event in history" assertions?

He bases it on what he bases all his posts, his dillusional world.
Soccer is still, by far, the world's number one sport. That isn't changing any time soon. Stef Curry could walk down the street in any city in the world, or even most American cities and no one would notice him.

Warrior owner’s wife was filmed talking with Jay Z at the last Dubs game whereupon she apparently “was ac’in’ like a home wreckin’ ho talkin’ to Queen Bee’s man an’ ax’in’ him questions ‘n’ stuff, maybe tryin’ to get his cell numba.” Bee-yon-SAY gave dat ho some stink eye and in two snaps ‘n’ a circle, her fans began to give death threats against Nicole Curran.
