13: Steve Sewell, in my life time. too tired to research it. averaged some pretty gaudy numbers per touch at OU and for the Broncos in the NFL. I've never heard anyone in the Denver media say anything that wasn't ultra-positive about the guy.

12 is slim pickens by "skill position" number standards: tossup.
as a devout Steve Collins guy inna day i can't really go with Cale Gundy--since i'm not a big fan of Cale as a player or person.
Paul Thompson has some merit here.
Monte Deere, a Wilkinson QB from the early 60's. i knew him from the golf club i worked in high school and played baseball with one of his sons.
i'll go with Big XII champ Paul Thompson.

This is one of the few numbers retired by Michigan....this was worn by three Michigan legends and they were all brothers:
# 11 Wistert, Francis, 1931-1933
# 11 Wistert, Albert A. 1940-1942
# 11 Wistert, Alvin 1947-1949 (The son of a bitch fought in World War II and came home to play with a bunch of boys)
All three players were First Team All-Americans.
The number hasn't been worn since Alvin's senior year.
Those who stay will be champions.

11 is slim pickings for ND, moreso than I would have thought. I'll go with Rick Slager, a gapfiller at QB between Clements and Montana.

some are more obvious than others, no body has worn 12 since White graduated or will wear 11 again unless Matt signs off on it.

even this game shoulda woulda never been close if Sims and Lott don't get hurt. Switzer claims they would have hung the proverbial "half a hunnerd".
regardless, SCS take a note of our boy David Overstreet.

#10 Todd Collins
Honorable Mention: Tom Brady...Collins gets the nod because of more passing yards. Brady won't go down in Michigan history has a great QB. He become prominant with his accomplishments with the Patriots. Collins had the better college career in comparison but has had the opposite success Brady has had in the pros.

QB Rex Kern did win a national championship in '68, but yeah Troy would have to be it for #10.
