I don't have any problem at all with someone presenting the ancient Greek evidence for the existence of Zeus.
Fine by me.
You certainly are aware of the difference between

MANY things can be cited as evidence to show something.
I personally find the behavior of the apostles to be VERY compelling.
It was strong evidence to ME.
If it doesn't move you at all, so be it.
But no, that is not the only evidence that has moved ME.
I wouldn't be in here testifying if I hadn't had my own personal life experience which moved me to recognize that Jesus is the Christ.

Jesus Christ spoke over and OVER about how He is the only way for us.
If I was to pretend that those who are worshipping idols are gonna be... just fine, now

pop, if Jesus actually said that, he was literally saying that only a handful of people on planet earth would see salvation. See, there was no Bible yet, never mind cable or the internet. 99.9999% of the world wasn't aware of His existence during His lifetime.
Look, not even you will insist that Jesus was that much of a dick.
Oh, and in addition to their spicy chicken, Popeyes' red beans and rice are awesome, as are their jambalaya bowls and powered cinnamon apple pies. Even their catfish is fairly badass.

Ahh.. a cereal box preacher. Got some on line "ordination" and now you's be a preacher. Don't need to be a preacher to preach a funeral. I have ran into more than a few of those. One of my part time gigs is working at a funeral home on call. Those cereal box preachers don't know when to shut the fuck up. Couple of them hit each funeral home in town every morning for coffee and try to rustle up some work for the week by preaching some poor unchurched bastards funeral for a quick hundred dollars.
2 other dudes I know are "ordained." Most heathen bastards I know. Drink, smoke weed, fuck women not their wives, but ready to lay the smack down when called upon to marry one of their homeboys. Besides it is a quick hundred bucks they can put up their nose.
Whats the difference between a regular ordination and a "technical" ordination ?

A few verses to look at if you are interested.
Hebrews 11:1-2
Genesis 15:6
Joel 2:32
I would
assume that we might be looking at something similar in the time during Jesus' Ministry and shortly after His death.

I think Dinsdale (or someone  ) once explained to me what the dictionary definition of
ordained is.
Something about
having Priestly authority, or
conferring Holy orders.
And in his spare time Mr. Ordained slips on his fresh-from-the-dryer tube sucks and goes on T1B and tells 'tards not to believe in God. haha

Just try to imagine a club where the leader says to his twelve friends plus a few groupies, "Look, people, I am the one and only way to make it to heaven. Either you believe I'm the son of God and commit your life to me or you're going to hell."
"But, ummm, Jesus, we live in some shitty jerkwater town in Bumfuck, Nowhere, and we're just a bunch of hippy bums anyway. Are you really saying that we are the only ones who get to meet your pops? Doesn't that seem kind of unfair? I'm pretty sure we aren't the only people in the world. What about the millions of clueless unfortunates living in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas? What about those guys Down Under? I love those guys! Have you heard them talk?"
"Look, moron, you're not even aware there is an Africa, Europe, Asia or the Americas, and you've certainly never heard of Australia. You still think the world is flat, and until two weeks ago you thought it was a great idea to stone a woman to death for committing adultry, or for eating a baloney sandwich. Quit frontin'."
"Okay, whatever, so I'm a good guesser, and John here finally got some of the bugs in his time machine worked out. Anyway, my point remains valid. What ebout everyone else? You can't just limit it to people who accept you as God's kid. Considering there are only a few of us, and we're pretty much useless dorks, what happens to all those other people?"
"Fuck 'em. Not my problem. They're toast."
Incredulous glances were exchanged around the room, until there began a slow murmuring...
"Fine by me."
"Cool."
"Seems reasonable."
"Lucky us, huh?"
"Chinese people are shitty drivers anyway."

This is not correct.
The majority of the New Testament Books are accounts from people who
directly interacted with Jesus.
Speculation on my part, but the
delay in writing of the Gospel accounts
may have been due to the apostles thinking that Jesus' return was imminent (right word, Wagon? ha) and it wasn't necessary to write them.
Only later did they realize that God's time schedule did not match their assumption - so they wrote them.
That seems kinds silly to me. I think it more likely that early proselytizing was done by word of mouth with the apostles traveling from town to town witnessing. It probably wasn't until the church began to gain steam that they perceived a need for a written gospel.

This says a lot more about your ignorance than theirs. They were citizens and subjects of the Roman Empire in the 1st century AD. They were very much aware of Europe, Asia and Africa. They had been speaking Greek for three hundred years. The wealth of the Empire and its power was generated in the eastern provinces. Far from being a "backwater," the Middle East was the hub of a global trade network connecting Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Africa and Europe. They were, almost literally, at the center of the world.

Some things to consider, Wagon:
1. I didn't start this thread.
2. In fact, I don't know that I have
ever started a theology-based thread in this forum. Maybe I did, but I can't recall it.
3. Sometimes people see my name in a thread and think,
"Oh, I'll take a shot at the Christer by saying THIS...*snicker* *snicker*," and they might get a response from me. I think it's all good.
4. I didn't ask myself questions in this thread. Other people have asked me questions. Maybe you've seen that? And people have posted misrepresentations of the Bible - which I actually feel a
duty to reply to.
5. God-mockers run rampant - and
appear to out-number believers 10-1 on the board. Look at the thread. To my eyes, it's actually
welcome to read the words of a believer coming out. I know there are other believers on the board, but they don't tend to engage. That's fine, too. Myself, I just prefer to engage.

Ummm. Maybe because they
weren't ignorant goat farmers? As a carpenter, Jesus himself would have been a skilled tradesman, undoubtedly educated and most probably from what would be considered a relatively prosperous upper middle class household. The apostles would have come from a similar background. They preached
to the ignorant goat farmers.

mvscal, there is such a thing as a 5 star steakhouse you IDIOT!!
Lots of restaurants will serve ANYTHING to please their customers, EVEN if its not on their menu.
I once dined at a very nice place that didnt serve a burger, for some reason, that night, I was in the mood for a thick juicy burger with fries. The staff was so eager to please me, they sent someone to the local market for fresh ground beef!!! They went above and beyond to please their clientelle'
I know that your tiny brain cant understand that concept, which is why you must be a scumbag.
As for 5 stars? You say michelen tires only rate up to 3 stars do you? What about a 4 star movie?
You know, the kind of movies you go to? Gay movies that gays go to? What about consumer reports which rates automobiles? 5 star rated vehicles? You wouldnt know, because you probably drive a piece of shit! I drive a brand new FORD F 150, the best vehicle on the road today.
As for 5 star hotels? Ever stay at one? Michelle Obama has. You probably wouldnt know about that either, cause you most likely stay at the motel 6 with lots of dust-mites and cockroaches.
5 star steakhouses? Mortons of chicago, N Y prime. Peter Luger of N Y. Del Frisco's, etc..etc..
How bout 5 star rated albums? I own many of them, Pink Floyd's "Dark side of the Moon",
Led Zeppelin 1, 2, 4, physical graffitti, The Who, "who's next", etc....
Again, you wouldnt know about 5 star rated classic music, due to the fact that your music SUCKS, your music is rated zero stars, garbage. You listen to RACIST crap like Chuck D of public enemy.
That motherfucker is an outright straight up racist.
SO, you dont think there is such a thing as a 5 star restaurant? I dont find that hard to believe, seeing as you eat at bacteria-laden dumps where the staff takes a shit then proceeds to dress your burger, dirty hands and all.
Dont lecture me on 5 star restaurants son, I frequent them, you dont. My life is filled with 5 star everything!! I live in a 5 star world, a world you cant begin to understand. You live in a zero star world, full of hate, full of pimps and Ho's, crime lurking on every street corner.
Now do you understand the difference between 0 stars, YOU, and 5 stars, ME?
good.

Here is the criteria for the Michelin rankings:
"Last week, Michelin announced the list of 114 Bib Gourmand restaurants from the latest New York edition. Bib Gourmands serve two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less (excluding tax and gratuity). Bib Gourmands are known as our inspectors' favorites for good value, and they deliver everyday excellence at a reasonable price. There were 31 new Bib Gourmand selections in the 2012 guide."
Peter Luger was voted the best steakhouse in the country for its real aged and rated prime rib when most only serve rib roasts and call it prime rib. Then again the Food TV show said there was a 6 month waiting period. I just called the Peter Luger Brooklyn store a few minutes ago and was told I can just walk in with a party of 4 between 11:45 am to 3 pm Monday through Thursday and won't need a reservation.
If I wanted great cuisine I would prefer San Francisco, Portland, or Seattle. If in New York then there are many nice places without a doubt.

MgoBlue, do you understand the sick twisted liberal mindset? YES, I do expect you to fully believe it, AND, I expect you to fully understand just how fucked in the head Liberals really are.
For instance, Liberals say that if you require a person to have some form of ID at a voting place, thats RACIST! WHAT??!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?! Are they totally dellusional and insane????
ANY rational human being knows that when you show up to vote, you need to show who the fuck you are. WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT HAVE TO DO With RACE???? See how weird liberals are??
NEXT, I have listenned to many many liberals thru the years, they live in a fantasy world, full of intolerance and hate. Would you like a little snippet of the dinnertime conversation at Lugers that evening? These liberal professors, YES, they were married, and both professors at an extremely liberal ivy league school. They were going on about how "the white man" fears "the black man", CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS SHIT????
I had to do everything I could to not burst out laughing at these two liberal clowns. The wife, quote, "its amazing how white men live in constant fear of blacks" , end quote.
WHAT IS SO AMAZING about her statement, is the fact that its so false and dellusional!!!
The reality is just the opposite, Black men are the ones living in a constant state of fear, and that can be backed up by the high incarceration rate in proportion to their overall percentage of the total population.
When you are fearful, you tend to be scared of everything and everyone, you tend to committ violent acts upon society, you prey upon others. In short, you are afraid of your own fuckin shadow.
At Barack Obama's former church in Chicago, His longtime Pastor taught a theology FULL OF HATE AND RACISM. QUOTE, "the only way a white man can gain entrance to heaven", end quote.
IMAGINE if that was taught at a white church, in reverse, "the only way a white man can get to heaven", BUT ITS NOT. I attended a Real Baptist church for 15 years, and they never taught sick hate like that. BUT, the mainstream media wont call Obama out for that sick racism, NEVER.
Getting back to the dinner conversation of two sick liberals at Lugers. WOW, I coined a phrase,
"liberals at Lugers", I think I must write a book on the sick minds of Liberals at a 5 star steakhouse, eating only vegan. Its a sure-fire bestseller.
They spoke about "global warming" and how driving SUV's was causing this planet much peril. They spoke about how our constitution was an "out of date" and useless document, which needed to be replaced by a more modern constitution. HOLY FUCK!!! If I had my gun on me that night, I would have arrested them both for HIGH TREASON.
They of course didnt like the 2nd ammendment, and they wanted the freedom of religion and the right to exercise freely thereof, they wanted the government to have more control over what could be practiced, again, HOLY FUCK, SOMEONE PLEASE REVOKE THE TENURE of these two nutjobs.
FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Still, even one Michelin star is prestigious. New York has over 800 restaurants and only seven 3 star, nine 2 star and forty-six 1 star restaurants.

Uh, Bib Gourmands has squat to do with Michelin's star rankings. It's in the Michelin guide, but the criteria for BG is a good value for the dollar not pure culinary excellence.
