We have subs and surface ships just as close to Russia as they do to us. Been that way forever. What’s the big deal?
Ours probably even work.

Interesting...
Federal Reserve being blackmailed?
The Lockbit ransomware group announced that it had breached the US Federal Reserve and exfiltrated 33 TB of sensitive data.

Unless demands are met, Lockbit (Russian group) claims it will begin releasing "banking secrets" beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, 6/25/24).

But by all means, most people should be bailing on the markets. What’s the saying again? Oh yeah, buy high and sell low. That gives the smart people more opportunity to make some money.

So you probably spend all your money each week on beer and fat redneck women. Probably have two ATVs on a trailer and maybe a motor home. Don’t bother to put any of your paycheck away regularly for retirement because WTF you can do that later. You’re a staunch conservative who loves the party of “capitalism” except you can’t stand anyone who has actually practices it. You’ll be even more bitter when you realize that you can’t retire on Social Security alone and wonder how you possibly could have gotten into that predicament.
The one thing you’re actually good at is talking out of both sides of your face at the same time. Why am I not surprised? Useful
tfool for the party of Trump.

No need. I'm comforted in the fact the voting public won't let that shrew near the Oval Office while the economy, not to mention the culture, are in shambles, and geopolitical tensions are super high.
Biden has already destroyed the economy. The recession is the topper.

I’d like to think that voters will recognize that 4 more years of failed economic policies, immigration policies, and the continuation of our flailing foreign policy will mean we won’t continue as the country we barely recognize even now. Things will be dramatically worse.
But I see friends…otherwise intelligent friends…who continue to support the disastrous Biden administration. Thus, I do think we may be damaged beyond repair as they will vote again for ineptitude. They simply don’t care about our survival.

I laughed.
The economy is booming here in San Francisco.
Of course, we don't allow Walmarts in San Francisco. So there's that. During my travels I've noticed that nothing destroys and a small towns economy like adding a Walmart to it. People end up buying shitty quality products for 50 cents less and the item breaks in 3 months. While you can buy the same item in a quality small business that lasts 10 years. Get rid of your fucking Walmarts and you might make some money. I think Walmart employees half the population in Trumper States.
Too funny.

The Nikkei had dropped over 25% since the middle of July, SM.
it had dropped almost 20% in just the last few days.
Nothing goes straight down, so a strong snap back UP at some point was expected.
US futures are also up by quite a bit right now.
I don't think the US bottom is in yet.
Depending on a bunch of factors, I roughly expect the US markets to bounce up and down a bit, but ultimately trend lower over the next few months.
Geopolitical events could trigger some big selling again.
We're not out of the woods, imo.
