He did. Which was his job to do. Not exactly the type of play I personally like to see in a Stro-Card series but good, hardnosed baseball nonetheless. He was taking him out no different than a runner does when going in to home plate.

What a fucking awesome experience, and no doubt the best ending to a game that I've ever attended. I was completely amazed Pujols didn't plow right through Ausmus in the 9th last night. That pussy-assed attempt at a slide was pathetic. Pujols should have plowed him over. It just showed he isn't as bright on the basebpaths as some make him out to be or he just wasn't trying.

Either way, I would not have bitched one bit if Pujols would have given Ausmus a concussion. It's part of the game. There is little contact in this game, but when it is needed, people CAN get hurt. It's not the goal, but with no padding it WILL happen sometimes.
