Over the past three years, mine have the following confirmed kills.
9 Rabbits
3 Birds
1 Mouse
1 Opossum*
While I would have questioned it prior to seeing them in action, mvscal is correct about doxie instincts. They are absolutely fearless and killed the above animals within seconds of running them down. At only twelve pounds, the minis would probably need several points against a badger; however, a full-sized standard would be more than up to the task and likely favored by at least a touchdown.
* Owner-assisted softball bat to the head after both dogs ran the fucker up on top of a fencepost.

You are correct. With the straight ahead, plodding style that Alvarez trains his Badgers to run, Vegas has installed the Dotties as a 9 point favorite.

Rack Ucant.
Calhound would be hard pressed to find holes in the Doxie line, and overall speed at linebarker would string him out along the sidelines time and time again.

That's a very insightful analysis, my friend. Well done... and thanks for the laughs.

"The Steelers will quietly back in to the playoffs"? "They have a decent shot at a wildcard"? "They will draft Matt Leinart with the #1 pick in the draft"?

Fuck that, Matt is B-More's damn it!

Doxie vs. Badger today? Dead Doxie
Your post confirms yet again that you live in the past
They will still go to ground on instinct. I can see you don't know much/anything at all about Dachshunds. Minis were used to hunt rabbits, though. Standards were used to fuck up some badgers.
They might not be particularly bright, but they are completely fearless. I guess you would have to be to go after a live badger.
Respect the Dachshund...or they'll rip up your shoelaces.
No shit . My sister has one , and I'm always tripping over the little fucker .

OK, I bought one today and am training him to retrieve Pheasants as we speak.....
The other dogs may laugh at him, but I don't care as I can tell "Atilla the Hunt" has the killer instinct.
The only problem, as far as I can tell, is that our hunting is restricted to my front and back yard since I cannot see him "On point" above anything taller than fescue
Take the Badgers, give the points

Doxies should be hell on pheasants. They're low enough to see where they run to. You just have to put a whip antenna with a pennant on the dog so you can see where it is.

The first was a young robin that obviously hadn't mastered the whole flying thing. Saw it hit the ground, and Faust had it in his mouth before I could blink.
The other two were adult sparrows or starlings that meander in the back yard too close to the deck. The black-and-tan smoothie went straight off the deck to the ground, landing on one of them. While he didn't hit the other (about a month later), he did manage to run it over as it tried to take flight.
One of the funniest things I ever saw.

There are a whole bunch of guys in my office trying to figure out why I can't stop laughing.
The Doxie hurled itself off the deck on TOP of the bird?

NFC, Didn't see Atlanta falling apart or Philly losing McNabb and TO going batshit (and underestimated Carolina, obviously).
So who was closer?
And anybody on the money preseason?(I'm not even going try to look back that far.)
