I sense that trex's annual " you guys all suck and I don't want to play any more so I'm gone" post is only hours away.

Nope. And don't ever fucking question his football acumen because he played against Tommy Fraizer.

I also have a rooting interest in the D3 Linfield Wildcats, the winningest program in the history of college football.
But it's D3.

Killian wrote:Cicero wrote:T Rex is an older guy? Holy shit. I swore he was 20-21 tops.
Nope.
Actually, T REX is a kid compared to me. But then again, that holds true for most of this board.
What really gets me about Trixie is that he goes to his "I don't hate Notre Dame" card, then rants on about how overrated ND was based on their bowl loss. Funny, but I remember 27 other teams also losing their bowl games, and some of them, unlike ND, were actually favored to win their bowl games. Yet Trixie reserves the "overrated" smack for ND and ND alone. But he doesn't hate ND . . .
And btw, as to our list, we should add the following, who aren't quite regulars in here but are here often enough to support their teams:
Stanford (Mikey)
Alabama (Sudden Sam)
Auburn (Spinach Genie/Buccaneer)
That's why I hate internet message board lists -- you inevitably forget somebody or something.

No.....ND was overrated because they didn't play anyone all year. They beat a lousy Michigan team. They almost lost to Stanford. Their biggest accomplishment was taking USC to the wire......a loss.
Sorry, but what was their record vs Top 25 teams?
They were overrated all year.
THAT'S WHY.

Was Florida overrated? Considering they beat a lousy Florida State team, almost lost to Vandy, barely beat Tennessee, got bitch slapped by a team in Alabama that could hardly play any offense, and their best game was a close win over a Georgia team that didn't have DJ Shockley.
I'm sure they were overrated when they started the year unranked and beat a ranked Pitt team, they were overrated when they were ranked in the 20's and beat Michigan who was #3. Great call again, Trixie.
So, as I stated in another thread, should Michigan get ready for their annual beat down at the hands of Notre Dame because of the last two years, and the fact they'll be underdogs to ND next year? Even though it's a rivalry?
Now you'll see Trixie's Road Runner impersonation. Trixie is the Road Runner and the facts are Wile E. Coyote.
If you do respond, do you mind also throwing in there how Weis did something your boy Urban and his father stated was too hard to do? No? Didn't think so.

Wow, I guess I called that one. Anyway, K and Terry just a sub but I'll do my best to represent. By the way that Frazier Neb-UF game was unbelievable, I remember thinking poor guys know whats coming and still cant stop a third and 9 running play. Spurrier was proly just thinking how kick ass his system would be in the NFL instead of stopping the revolutionary triple option.

Welcom Legacy. How exactly did you hear of this board?
And the recruitment of Tommie Frazier can be directly tied to the downfall of Lou Holtz.

If Frazier would have gone to ND he would have won 3 Heismans.

Some trolling Aggie fan quoted someone here about LB Anthony Lewis some time ago on an Irish site and so I had to come see for myself. Yeah Tommie could have changed our fortunes quite a bit. But lets not forget that Carlyle was supposed to be the second coming and Davieham ruined him.

Did you just roll out with the "Michigan was #3" at the time. THAT means NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!
ND=overrated
So what? It's true.
You would have been .500 in the Big 11.

Way to dodge the question, pussy.
You think ND would have been .500 in the Big 10. You also thought they would have finished 5-6. Great call. You can't prove they would have finished .500, and I can't prove they wouldn't. If you want to continue to throw out hypotheticals, my guess is that UF would be right around .500 in Big 10 play also. Considering you struggled to beat a team that finished middle of the pack, and it required suspect (at best) officiating to do so.
So do you want to take a crack at the questions I posed, or are you going to continue to run away form them?
I do know this: ND would have damn sure finished close to 5-6 had Meyer been hired and he brought along that staff.

Dude, we're talking about real, ERRR, D1A college football. Try to follow.
Well, they were NAIA until the early/mid 80's. That counts double, right?
Regardless, it's a little tiny school that's put up 50 straight winning seasons. And has a higher all-time winning % than any CFB team, anywhere. If you're going to play D3, might as well have the BODE, right?
As an aside, I'd love to see their QB, Brett Elliot, playing on sundays, but coming out of D3(despite winning the MVP award thingy multiple times (I believe), not too likely coming from D3, except maybe by way of the Arena League or Europe or something. Too bad, since he was the heir apparent to Alex Smith before he bailed for home, and would have garnered a lot of national recognition there -- he just hated living in Utah
that much. Dude threw up some outrageous numbers, though. I think he went for about 575 yards passing in their PLAYOFF loss
(uh-oh, there's that word again). Dude's a serious gamer.
And these ew guys...am I to understand that this board is achieving a level of nation fame/infamy?
Freaking RACK you fools.

Killian, give the guy a break. We all know that there was no college football before the Great Urban. In the year 1999 BU we all spent our Saturdays playing Rock Paper Scissors and flogging the dolphin. In fact have you guys heard the truth about electricity? Sir Urban actually went back in time and created it before Ben Franklin, thus it is now call urbatricity. Weird, I looked it up at Gatorbait.com and they said it was true. Who am I to question the supreme authority of the Universe? Also I think that Urban created woman by pooling his tears after the Bama game then breathing on it. Just the latest rumor going around.

Rex please I dont want you to have a mental breakdown like The Urban. I'm simply stating that you Irish haters out there can't have it both ways.
You said the times had passed us by and we must join a conference because our schedule had become to brutal to compete. That we were no longer relevent to the college football conversation. Then when we hire a real coach and win the impossible games on our schedule (3 early season top 10's) we didn't play anyone good and are way over rated.
Please, you want to talk about overrated lets talk about the Meyer Spread, which by the end of the year looked more like the Ty Willingham West Coast Offense consisting of eliminating the shotgun, hand off, hand off, bubble screan, punt.

FSU questions

Hey all you FSU boys. Do you think that Weatherford is the unquestioned starter this year or will Xavier Lee get a look.
Will Booker be the feature back or will you do running back by committee? I think Marcus Simms' future is at running back. Agree/Disagree
Also who follows in Bobby's footsteps. Something tells me it could be Richt. Lastly how bad will you beat the Gators this year. Could get ugly FSU versus 22 Wide Recievers, not fair.

Legacy5.5 wrote:Hey all you FSU boys. Do you think that Weatherford is the unquestioned starter this year or will Xavier Lee get a look.
W/ out a doubt. Xavier has some minor shoulder surgery and Drew is going to get the majority of snaps in the Spring.

Booker will be the feature back. He has been the best performer so far in Spring Drills. He wont get all the carries though. Soph Antone Smith is going to be a good one and I think they will play them both a lot in the split back set. Marcus Simms is going to be a RB, at least at first. He wants to play RB and he could be the big back we have missed since Greg Jones. I expect him to Redshirt though b/c this year, the backfield is really crowded.
Also who follows in Bobby's footsteps. Something tells me it could be Richt.
I think it is going to come from w/ inside the program. Richt is everyone's dream but he just signed a huge long year term deal w/ Georgia. My guess is Kevin Steele our LB coach b/c prior to last season he was promoted to Executive HC(whatever that is?). He is a top notch recruiter and the players fav. I dont mind the hire, but I would like the Noles to go after someone like Bobby Petrino before settling on Steele.
Lastly how bad will you beat the Gators this year. Could get ugly FSU versus 22 Wide Recievers, not fair.
The Gator game is always tough. The past 10 times the Noles are 7-3, but have lost the last two. I think FSU is going to be a diff team this year b/c they all those fresh and soph got good playing time. I think FSU wins, but not by much.

Weatherford will be the qb unless injury or he has a Chris RIx sophmore season.
Booker will be the "feature" back, though I have a hard time seeing him get more than 10-15 carries a game. I'm sure we'll see some A Smith in there too. I'd really like to see Jamal Edwards given a shot. Sims will be an afterthought for a couple of years, but I hope he stays at his weight right now, he could get too big to fill the role of TB.
Head Coach? Your guess is as good as mine.
Florida will beat us by 50 next year. All the drug abuse and defections will make us loose this one.

All the drug abuse??? Losing Lewis hurts more than Rouse. I think its a good thing those two are gone. Losing Cro and Ernie will hurt but we are loaded at LB and at least both returning corners played a lot last year.
