anyone who's been here a while knows I told you 2-3 months into his first season that Datsyuk would win the Hart one day.
just remember........you heard it here first.

Clutching and grabbing? The oldest excuse in the book.
Today the NHL Network showed the Flames Oilers Game 7 from 1986, and I have to say, I've never seen more clutching and grabbing, even the Panthers of 1995 looked like choir boys. So much for the 80's being the days of wide open free wheeling hockey. More like the days of lousy defensemen taking jobs due to expansion...
But I digress. Hockey is and always will be a physical sport. Unless Datsyuk adapts to that part of the game, he will remain a spectacular stickhandler and little else.
So now you're admiting he's a spectacular stickhandler? Just the other day you said he didn't have nothing on Ovechkin, Jagr, Kovalev, and Iginla in stickhandling.
Hockey is a physical sport and that's why i never consider him one of the best players in the league. Not just his size, but he's not that fast compared to guys like Ovechkin who can simply beat you with their speed. And i've been admiting that the whole time. But you were confusing all of that with his abililty to make plays with the puck because of his stickhandling and ability to shift. Datsyuk will probably never be a guy who is going to simply dominate a game, but he's talented enough with his size and speed to still make plays and put up points.

Perhaps... my personal favourite stickhandler Alice Hemsky's got a goal that prolly belongs on that list, and Ovechkin's is a no-brainer, so... maybe Datsyuk gets some love for that effort.
But Spezza scored a pretty nice one too.
Good year for highlights I guess. God bless the shootout.
When do the playoffs start?

That would work.
As for Datsyuk, he was a rookie last time you saw him, not quite ready for prime time. When he gets his shit together in the playoffs, I will be listening for your grinding teeth as he lifts Lord Stanley's mug above his head.
You are making an argument without even knowing the facts.... you claim that Datsyuk was a rookie last time i saw him.... actually that was his third season. He also played 25 playoff games in those first two seasons, and scored a sparkling 6 points.
Here... you even get a choice of colors....

Not a raw rookie per se, but still a rookie.
He's just now finding his game and learning what it takes to win in the playoffs.
This will be a very special post-season......you will see.
o yes.......you will see.

I understand that you are sticking up for your boy, and i can respect that. But not one word you said brings anything to the debate to support it. But since you want some more quotes, i can dig up a couple more...
" The hands, the feet, the moves... they're magical. "
- Marty Turco
" With Pavel, you have to back off because you know he can make you look silly with some of the one-on-one moves he has. His ability to stickhandle is extraordinary. You have to respect the moves, the stickhandling, and his shot. "
- Rob Blake
"There's no one who leaves the goalie in the corner like he does... He's pretty amazing''
-Mike Babcock
"He makes me look stupid all the time in practice. He goes almost sideways at full speed. He's unbelievable."
- Manny Legace
I can't speak for all of them, but from what i understand, Rob Blake has yet to.

Is this what this board has come to? A 2 page thread about the wonders of Pavel Datsyuk? OK, he's great but enough already! And Silky, if you don't like the language then get out of the fucking kitchen. Jesus, used to be if some dub like Silky came in here and creamed his pants about his favorite players he'd get thrashed by one and all. What a disgrace this board has become.

If we have 8 page Ovechkin, why not a 3 page Datsyuk thread? Considering the only mod is a WingFan...I think I'll allow it.

True, but the Ovechkin thread has some genuine bile and edge. This is just some over-zealous propping done by some punk whose probably got a closet full of Datsyuk and Zetterberg sweaters.

There's wings fans here. If YOU can't take the heat then YOU get the fuck out of the kitchen, and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
Crying that someone should do something?!?!?
Why don't YOU do something, or STFU.
Don't bring your big B suckage in here, byatch. Datsyuk is money.

Well Mainiac, that was not the plan, but you and you're buddies wanted to get into a debate about it. The language, makes me laugh because that's all you guys can bring to the debate to try to prove me wrong? I mean i don't think i have recieved one solid point against me. But i agree language is always a good way to win a debate... ha. Like i said, your boy told me i was wrong, and then did nothing to prove me wrong. And now we've come to this. A disgrace, you're right, it was a disgrace. Next time you guys want to debate at least give me a challenge and use some evidence and points against me instead of foul language. End of story.

Nope, no Datsyuk and Zetterberg jerseys. Use to have a Fedorov jersey when i was younger though. And if you don't like the way this threat went, well you can pile all of that on your boy. I post a comment that any true hockey fans should take a look at Datsyuk and Zetterberg lately because the level they were playing at, and someone took a stab at them.

Success breeds envy SJ......don't let these bush leaguers get you down.
But we've maybe beaten the Datsyuk horse to death, but Zetterberg?!?
A great power forward with hands of silk and eyes in the back of his head. Have you seen his moves? He has one on a breakaway, where he sweeps the puck right then left then right, each time 2 feet on either side of his body, then roofs the backhand.
The only defence against it is a perfectly timed poke check.

Yeah, i was actually at a game earlier this season against Pittsburgh when he scored on a shorthanded breakaway goal using that move. As much as Datsyuk can bring to the table, Zetterbergs on a different level. He's simply one of the most complete players in the NHL. Great speed, very strong on the puck, can grind it along the boards as well as play the finesse game. Very good defensivly... Last night he was actually put on a line with Draper to match up against the Joe Thornton/Cheechoo line. They held them pointless, with only 3 shots on goal. Zetterberg was was on the ice for every Thornton even strength shift and controlled the play. He's a true talent, and should be considered one of the best players in the league right now.

Oh fuck off please. I have nothing against Datsyuk, he's a great player but if you want a Wings only board then fine and dandy with me. You can have it.

I don't want a wings only board. I want a board where knowledgable hockey people can talk hockey, with a little smack.
I didn't know there was an underground movement to turn this board into niiiiiiiiiiiiice hockey talk. Both you and your team seem to have an inbred disposition to fold against competition.
Don't cry about it......own it.

No, not at all. Here in Detroit we got a great sports radio show "The Sports Inferno" that is alot more popular than Rome.

I've caught the Inferno when I can over the 'net. I used to listen to that every day at work before they cracked down on streaming audio.
The whole thing is this board and many others are derived from Smack Chat, the message board that used to be on Jim Rome's site. None of us are really Rome fans persay but 'rack' is one his pet words he uses that we still use. Also, you'll see 'war' quite often. If you've ever heard his show before you know what those two words mean.
