I don't think Family Guy had All in the Family in mind with his crass bigotry. I think its just pigheaded stupidity in general.

Good point, Mgoo. There is no way to rationalize a grown man fighting a giant chicken for five minutes because the chicken gave out expired coupons. Or, why when a man hits his shin, he has to sit down on the ground, hold said shin and cry about the pain for a full minute.

Archie was losing it, that's why he lashed out at Meathead, the Jeffersons and everyone else.... including his wife, who wasn't as docile as he'd probably like to believe (if i remember correctly).

and Gloria would always be his little girl, in spite of the times.

Is Peter losing it, or is he just the Yankee version of Hank Hill.. but more abrupt?

For someone who believes more talent was brought in to make "Married With Children", your opinion is pretty much null and void. Family Guy is about surreal nonsense and obscure pop culture references and insults. You'll either get it or you won't. Sounds like you were part of the latter the majority of the time.

I know, but I wasn't kidding before. I've tried to watch Family Guy, but I can't get past the fooken testicles on that guy's chin.

It's like when Uncle Buck tried to talk to that lady with the giant melanoma on her face.

It's like trying to concentrate on the subject of any thread when that girl with the basketball boobs is flouncing around in the avatard.

I'm sure it's nothing that a good dose of shock therapy can't cure.
