Jeez, they made a movie abput Pearl Harbor in 1942. They made a movei about the Titanic within a year of it's sinking.

Too soon? Grow up people. Bunch of 8 year olds on this board.

I thought PSU was saying, we don't need a movie to be reminded.

1. All of us were alive that day and of age to remember.

2. Most of us continue to talk about it, the news of today is a direct consequence of 9-11.

3. There's already a plethora of media available to "remind" youngsters available through the internet and other venues.

I didn't read his posts as saying "we don't need to be reminded", but more "we don't need a hollywood movie to remind us".

That sums it up for me as well.

That being said, if it pays unequivocal tribute to the passengers, I'm all for it.

Unfortunately, my suspicion is that it's going to try to do too many things. I'm waiting for video, because I'm a cheap bastard.

Hey... Looky here!!! Bingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... and Tom didn't even read any of the links provided here(that mention how the family's ALL SUPPORTED IT!!!) "The movie".

You see... some of the people on that plane were actually "true hero's" and went outta their way to save the lives of people that may have died if that plane made it to it's destination, knowing they were going to die anyway!!!

I'll see it just to pay tribute to them and their family members.

That's to bad to hear... some things are worth my $$$.

From what I hear, it's haunting and very well done.

Should be one of the best flicks of the year.

Maybe that's because the plane was full of CIA drug money and was being flown by Elvis.

Your statement is impressively authoritative. What are your sources?

BTW, I work with the Shanksville School District for some things. Plenty of folks in that area share your belief, for whatever reason. I honestly have no idea why they are led to this belief.

As for mvscal...it's not that I bemoan remembering Flight 93, it's rather that I detest the idea that Hollywood will bank untold millions off of the version of it that they see fit to film.

That will make Hollywood the first to have profited off of 9/11. Not really.

A movie such as this won't come off real well because we are still deeply involved in a war of which 9/11 was a focal point.

A 'Pearl Harbor' movie made in 1944, for example, wouldn't have come off real well.

Later, after time, when it's possible to look at the event with some perspective, I could see it.

But hey, if folks want to lay down cayesh to check out the film, who's to knock 'em...?

Me, I can't see the flick as being 'entertaining' in any way, so it holds no appeal for me.

Perhaps some day, when the muzzie threat has been properly snuffed out, yes.

Not now.

Besides, I'm in South Korea and wouldn't know where to find a theatre if I wanted to.

Local time, Tuesday, 9:10 a.m.

Just feeling my way around here right now.

Everything's got a 4-day old sock odor.

Odd.

God bless the USA.

What's happening is that in about 7 days or less, 'tart will be about one homesick 'duh fan yearning to hug a bunch of H-Town messican's, legal or not.

Over/Under on popster's return to American soil.

90 days.

Over/Under on him getting down on his hands and knees and kissing the ground.

90 seconds.

MLB is regularly on a couple of cable channels here.

That being so, the NFL will also be on come Autumn, no doubt.

If not, yeah, under 90 days would have been a winnah, Wagon.

More later, Luth.

JCT, my kids spent a little time here in Korea in the past. Meat is very expensive here, and a dinner out including meat of any type tends to be pricey. One night one of my wife's friends offered to take the kids out for a nice meal. They chowed down pretty damn good, I am told. Lots of great beef. In the car, on the way home, the fella asked them how the meal was. "Oh GREAT, GREAT, thanks, thanks so much," was the reply.

"Glad to hear. Well, you did know it was dog, right?"

Coulda heard a pin drop.

There were several movies made about or featuring Pearl Harbor in the five years after the attack.
