You mean we have to choose?

I'll take "neither."

If I want to see two feet of snow, they have these things called "mountains," and I can just drive on up there and check it out. Even today.

Come to think of it, some morons are probably going to be skiing and snowboarding this week in the blistering sun...enjoy that skin cancer. Watching people come off the mountain in hot weather is a hoot...you almost want to crack their claws open and dip them in butter.

I like the snow.

Sure, there's times you just don't feel like scraping your car off. And the occasional 35 mph on the freeway isn't too darned convenient either. But in general, I enjoy the winter.

Yeah, for myself, those "times" are...never.

We have an unwritten policy around here...we don't scrape snow off our cars. We call whoever it was, wherever we were supposed to be, and tell them "it snowed...I can't make it today. See you tomorrow."

This last winter, it snowed a total of about 55 feet on the mountain to the east. It snowed approximately a half-inch at my house...a pretty big snow year for here...

The way it's supposed to be.

Straight butter. If it's hot enough to make you sweat when you are doing nothing, it's too fucking hot. If it's cold enough to make you shiver, it's too fucking cold.

That's great for you.

For me, that's a small "price" to pay in order to have this seasonal change that I enjoy.

I enjoy the seasonal change, too. It occurs between our two seasons -- the cool wet season, and the warm dry season.

OK...it doesn't really "change" -- it "segues."

There is that. A lot of the transplants complain about the lack of seasons. Then those same transplants will turn around and say "but I've never had to shovel rain."

To those of you who are sweltering --

I just checked the thermometer here.

62 degrees, on its way to about 80 this afternoon.

Marine layer = BODE this time of year

And when it cranks up into the triple-digits this weekend...it will still get down under 65 in the wee hours, making sleeping next to an open window pretty darn nice.

a $200 water bill later and my yard is still sorta green.

I gotta have something to mow with the new Tractor

It's supposed to be 78 and partly cloudy here, with a low of 66.

I guess that qualifies as "sweltering".

:meds:

Actually, the high humidity (all the way up to 55 or 60 percent) does make it feel warmer than usual.

I've got 175 feet of elevation and a 3000 foot mountain range that says I'm not going to be, either.

Any bets on how many tards will drown under the Colorado Bridge this weekend? we're up to two on the summer, but I think darwin is gonna make a serious run this week.
I do believe that the score is about :

Oregon waterways : 19

Tards: 0.

I think it was 6 mensas that checked out by drowning in the last heat wave, and that it is 19 in less than a month.

Something about being high on crank, drunk on warm beer makes jumping into a 55 degree river supplied by glacial and snowmelt water seem , well cool to do.

War the hotties walking around suburban Gresham today.

It was freaking hot until Lightning lit a gas tanker on fire....

Fire has engulfed a dock area at the Port of Providence. It started shortly before 10:30 on Tuesday night. It's believed lightning struck as a tanker was unloading gasoline, sending large plumes of smoke and fireballs into the air. Officials said the ship was able to safely pull away from the dock.

I must say the fire was pretty cool!!

RACK hotties.

Unrack any day where you find yourself in Gresham.

Did you score any heroin off the mexicans?

RACK our streams for weeding out the transplants.

"Yeah, I guess you guys were right -- you really can't swim for more than 30 seconds in wanter under 55 degrees...and you really do get pinned under those rocks....HELP!!!!

Unrack using good taxpayer money hiring lifegaurds to circumvent Darwin.

Lets see.. 85 degrees with 59% humidity. Most of the area is without power excluding my office and a few others that are currently running on a generator. Word is Peco will get off their ass and restore power by Thursday or Friday.

At least I don't have any more realtors running through my house. :meds:

it's been hovering around 100 for several days here in Denver.

Supposed to be back in the 80s for the weekend but 90s next week.

Best part about it; Humidities UNDER 20%!

BODE!

(yes, Phoenix, I know, you have no humidity either but it's different when it approaches 120)
