Another one that's been in heavy rotation is the 1st Set, 8/21/93. Autzen Stadium. Probably the most awesome Bird Song I've ever heard. Find it, if you can. Starts shakey, goes nuts later...very representative of that day.
Maybe I'm biased, since I was there, grooving like a madman?
But that was truly a magical day, and the best concert I've ever seen, by a longshot. Started early, and there was unseasonable rain showers at the start. Somehow the collective knew they could overpower nature, and a guy next to me even said "once everyone wakes up all the way, the energy coming from this building will evaporate the rain before it can hit the ground." Second set, the band broke out a bunch of the catalog that dealt with "rain." Sure-a-freaking-nuff, the skies cleared. It was pretty freaking spiritual, or at least it was after about 7 doses.
That was just a killer, killer week. Eat, drink, and watch Jerry...forever.
In this case hijacked is a good thing. And we just swept the sox!

You know, reading those reviews, I think that show was the day after the "Rain Day." Pretty sure that was the same stand, though...gets a little blurry, you know.
Definitely my favorite Bird Song, though. Easy one to figure out who/what Hunter is referring to on that one.

And reading the reviews again, I'd kinda forgotten Standing On The Moon. That was huge. I was just about in tears, listening to what's describes as "the best SOTM EVER!"
And my hazymemory had forgotten that Huey Lewis made the trek to Eugene to come sing some backup. Pretty sure that was a Bruce Hornsby show, too...but once again, the memory is a little hazy from that Long Strange Trip.
Edit -- That's right...Jerry broke out a new guitar and went the hell of during that show...good times. Too bad he can't play fast(according to Van, anyway).

That was a very "whacky" Birdsong, a very intersting jam to say the least, good call though (china/rider right now).
Just checked out some other '93 shows, I caught the set at Nassau Colliseum, April fools show was hot, during Candyman some dude was throwing full size snickers non-stop and grinning ear to ear the whole time. Rack him guessing they would play it. RFK shows were also memorable, some "tabs" went missing in the back seat of my car, we found them in time for 2nd day's show.

Of course if you are going to lose your acid, the best place to do it was at a dead show. 1) if anyone found it, they would know what to do with it and 2) it was easily replaced.

Don't know about Back East, but being the next-closest gig to San Fran, fuckers would be giving the shit away at the gates sometimes.
It was, after all, at a Show that I heard the immortal words (from my buddies, of course): "You know what? I'm not entirely sure that was opium we were just smoking with that Rastafarian. Dear god, I'm hallucinating." Guess you woulda had to have been there...pretty freaking funny at the time...sort of, anyway. 107 degrees outside and consuming mystery drugs is always a good time. No worries -- we just washed it down with more doses.
