No, that's not what I suggested, dipshit

That's why they erect them on hills in the first place...and one cellphone tower is much like another...all the major services lease them from which ever one haggled with the local municipality to erect said cell tower in the first place.

Keep flailing around like a drunken sailor though, Dims.

This is FUN.

They have these things called off buttons on cell phones, and voice mail.

Actually, that's EXACTLT what you suggested, and contunue to do so.

There's about 2 million people or so in the metro area I live in, give or take. They pretty much have the cell tower thing dialed in. That said, there's places in the middle of the city where when you drop in the sub-valley, your call gets dropped...every time. Not just me, but every single person I frequently talk to, regardless of provider.

Coincedence, or do those frequencies maybe not go through solid rock as well as they do through air?

Think your answer through now...
That's why they erect them on hills in the first place
Wow, I guess you really are this clueless...you DO realize there's several hundred of those "hill" things around here, right? I can only imagine how much they'd charge for service if they erected a tower on every one of them(that's tossing the entire issue of feasability aside).

What an unmitigated display of dumbassery you're putting on. Keep it up, though -- it's amusing.

Verizon has better coverage outside of most california cities than cingular, thus cingular celphone service doesn't work there, but verizon celphone service does. They publish fucking MAPS that show their service coverage areas.

This will be my service in the future when it comes to my area.

MetroPCS brings a fresh approach to traditional wireless by continuing to make wireless service simple, convenient and easy to use. MetroPCS offers a flat rate service with no contract that allows consumers to pay by the month, not the minute. In addition, the company gives consumers a unique opportunity to enjoy advanced wireless phone service without the hassles of contracts

No, I'm the guy walking around saying "Whitey is a fucking idiot".

and BTW - I've had cingular service, it only worked well in the populated areas, lots of dropped calls in farmland.

Funny thing, cingulars coverage maps indicate that their coverage isn't that great in between cities.

Not the the FCC wouldn't step in or anything if they were lying.....

Hmmm.... back up a bit here and check your shit for brains post........Dins demanded you apologize now.. which is a general and open statement (apology ) to the board.

He then stated not to RESPOND which is a good thing.....RESPONDING is different than posting the general apology to the board

No. The real key is how many towers the provider has and where they are in proximity to your calling area. I have Sprint (based here in KC) and the reception sucks at my house 25 minutes east of downtown.

I don't think there's any service that does not have "dead spots".

Ok, I'll grant that there are exceptions, but for the most part, if one company has erected a cell tower in a certain area, the other providers will lease that tower if they currently don't already have service in that area.

Case in point: I read a news article recently about how T-Mobile wanted to erect a new tower in the Gladstone area and needed approval from the city. Some citizens were opposed to it during some public hearings that were held to debate the issue. They thought that it would be an eyesore, and that other providers would also want to put up their own towers in the same vicinity. Then they found out that other companies would be able to use that same tower for their own equipment by leasing it from T-Mobile, and that allayed some of their concerns and the tower is going up.

My guess is that for those areas around the country where one service might work and another doesn't, it's just a matter of time before the others start catching up.

Question for you Scott. Why would your wife and yourself use two different services? Couldn't you save money by just having one or the other? Sounds like T-Mobile works best in your area, so why not go with them solely? Regardless, that just bolsters my initial point about T-Mobile having good service, at least in the midwest and south.

And for the dweebs in the thread taking weak-assed potshots, I do regret one thing...that I stayed up way too late last nite arguing about phone service with you West coast perps. Silly me.

Do what you want with your phone service. Keep your land lines if that gives some extra sense of security...or don't. Use whatever cell provider you want, or try 'em all and report back which works best.

Or just go fuck yourselves...whatever makes you happy.

What on earth for?

While the terrain may "knock down" a little bit more moisture than the rest of Eastern Washington...

Why?

Just because it's a little bit less of an armpit than the rest of Eastern WA, it still doesn't make it a travel destination. Sure, it sucks slightly less than Tri-Cities, but that don't make it cool.

There's 256 different kinds of sagebrush indigenous to eastern WA...and they all look the same. But hey, at least something grows there that doesn't have an irrigation pipe leading to it.

I think there's a Spokane trip in my near future...can you tell I'm happy about it? Hella-long drive from here. Don't even have access to the dirt bikes and private motocross track anymore.

Kennwick is one of the Tri-Cities(along with Richland and Pasco). Spokane is Nature's Freaking Wonderland compared to Tri-Cities.

A probable place for The enema tube?
An excellent non-Nevada nomination.

Any city where they dance in the streets if it rains more than 3 drops, it's probably a safe bet that it sucks.
Oh yeah, that's where they store the stuff that will eventually kill the Pacific Ocean right after the Columbia River dies.
Hanford is north of there...a decent distance, but a quick jaunt by shithole desert standards, I guess.

Takes a rare breed to live in Tri-Cities...about halfway between the nasty nasty nuke dump(wha? We can't just dump that stuff in the cracks in the ground?), and the chemical weapons depot. And those never-ending 70MPH wind gusts...how can you not like that, when there's 0.0% humidity?

But hey, it never rains, so it's got that going for it.

Whats nice to keep in mind when bitching about Hanford is the fact that it was a rather large contributer to the ending of WW2 with Japan. That whole nasty bomb thingy they helped to develope...

We may have 256 varieties of sagebrush, but at least we dont have a homeless meth adict epedemic.
