The entire military decidedly does not loathe the idea of a new draft. The people delivering anti-draft sentiment may just be field-grade officers who fear unpleasant monkey business with their careers if the draft is reinstated.
Personally, I believe it's a great idea, and we'll see it happen within four months.

What part of the statement did you not get? Name someone on the right who supports the draft? Exactly when did you serve anyway, bitch?

I do. No deferrals. Your number comes up...you pack your shit and go. Bad back? No problem. You can push a pencil as well as that able bodied PAC clerk.

Conscripts won the Civil War and WW2. They'll do just fine today.
Being slightly to the right of Castro (if that) doesn't put you on the right. In WW II we didn't have the same anti-military press corps or a minority party dedicated to subverting the military effort in order to bring down the CinC. And our culture as a whole is slightly differant. And by serve, I didn't mean suck off, I meant enlist in the armed forces. Flat out, those who are serving right now don't want or need chicckenshit losers like you sullying the uniform.

Stick to proofreading, bitch.

If the only thing those field grade officers were concerned about was their careers, they would be all for the draft.

A draft means rapid expansion of the Army, which means accelerated promotions for the guys that are already in.

I voted No

Obviously the majority of young, serving age Americans are too obese to get through one day on a parade ground. How the fuck are they going to serve in some war except as tank camouflage?

This thread is proving my point in spades...except that after reading this thread I'm not sure if I'd even want some of you prior-service guys getting drafted if you hadn't already signed up.

Oh, well...props for your service, anyway.

Yes. I was wondering who the 2 who voted yes were. I figured you were one of them.

I have a feeling that re-instating the draft would be somewhat unpopular, politically, particularly with

a. People in the eligible age group

and

b. Their parents

Approval of this "war" would go down to about 2% if anybody actually had to consider making any personal sacrifices for it.

So people would be less interested in freedom if it meant their freedoms would be stepped on?

Non sequiter much?

Must suck to jump on the GOP bandwaggon just in time to see the wheels come off out from under you. Tell me, how's Arnie doing stopping those Messicans from littering your parking lots?

He does fine every day, 'cept for Cinco de Mayo, like always.

Arnie, while way too far left for my tastes, is still a far cry better than that union whore Gray Davis that he replaced.

While the Governator has done a lot better job than I expected, he still hasn't done much if anything to rein it the most powerful and corrput union in the state.

Exactly. Which is why only leftist scum are actually floating the idea as 1) an opportunity to scare the voters and 2) Becuse they actually think that our military is a collection of pathetc losers from the hood who are one step away from incarceratiion (Dims? Bace? Did Ispelt that one right?) Actually those in uniform (and the vast majority of those who have served) don't require or wish for any help from losers who don't care about their country in the first place (something the Dems will never get).

Fuck you and have a nice day.

I'm sorry, I must have missed it when you posted your branch and unit.
That's okay, I missed when you posted yours. Or I didn't give a shit. The point is that if you have served, you are fit to comenent on these matters. Even if <Bace Alert>your<End Bace Alert> a clueless racist shitstain like you.. Still a step abve a draft(snicker)dodging loser like Bace or Dins.

BTW, USS Hector 1980-1983.

And BTW, Fuck Off~edit~ Do you actually disagree with what I've been saying in this thread or is this just a drive-by blowjob?

Just curious.

Oh wait.
I don't care.

Oh, so you're a battle hardened veteran.
In 1981, HECTOR began her 25th deployment, visiting Yokosuka Japan; Diego Garcia; Tonga, Western Samoa; Auckland, New Zealand and Melbourne, Australia.
That was the Love boat war, right?

I liked that episode where Isaac whips up a Mai Tai for Sonny Bono, and then he goes and spills it on Gopher.

Oh the laughs!
