When I was typing that list out, I guess it came out longer than I thought. Maybe I was thinking of all those games at places like Duke, Baylor, SMU, Tulsa.

Best day of college football was back in '95.......Florida @ Auburn at 11 am then we drove to Brimingham for Tennessee @ Alabama (Legion Field) at night. I think 3 of the 4 were in the Top 10 and GameDay did their broadcast outside Legion Field. Next day, GameDay host Chris Fowler sits next to me on flight from Birmingham to DFW. Thought about beating him down with unending football questions but I spared him the drivel. Too hungover.

I was just curious of what you thought after this game. I have a bad feeling Tech fans act like dickheads. I do remember the Hokies gave USC one of its hardest games that year and should have beaten Auburn.

Your feeling is pretty correct, some Hokie fans were cool, most were rude and obnoxious. Generally you dont get the poor behavior in OOC and bowl games that you do in conference games vs teams you play every single year, wouldnt want to see how Va Tech fans treat their rival's fans.
The fans that have been the coolest have been the SEC fans, Im sure Bama fan has a different feeling about Auburn fan but I honestly didnt meet a single rude one, same with Arkansas. They love their teams, but they arent rude about expressing it.
Maybe I just sat near the bad Hokie fans, I think they made up at least 80% of that stadium though

Unfortunately, I doubt you did. Most Tech fans have some sort of inferiority complex that makes them act like complete assholes.
However, we will show you fuckers by winning the MNC in the next year or two

Despite all the historic stadiums mentioned, that might be the one I'm most jealous of.

Here's my depressingly short list...

Colorado
Nebraska
UCLA
Miami
Arizona St. (ASU games and Fiesta Bowls)
Arizona
the original Mile High Stadium (Rocky Mountain Showdown)
Chase Field/Bank One (numerous Insight Bowls)

I know I'm not the first person to think of this, but if I ever become independently wealthy, I'm going to take an entire CFB season and schedule a road trip to hit as many kick-ass, historic stadiums as I can, then write a book about it.

Yep, much like one has to stretch to call Oklahoma a institution of higher learning.
