I'm afraid we are screwed when you've got a coach that's just glad to be there, and plays each game off as "we're getting better." He's a spin doctor. He's a car salesman that Pederson tried to fit into a culture that just doesn't gel.
This f*#king game was NU's to lose, Callahan did just that. The play calling was absurd. His "you can put the blame on me" excuse, is not gonna fly next season. Falling on the sword has been used, (check) what's next?
He promised a championship, he wins the Big 12 north in '06, and seemed to feel mission accomplished. Sorry Callahan. that
doesn't constitute winning a championship.
Way to go Billy, we're the best of the worst, nice job.
2007 is his 4th year, NU fan has been patient for the most part. He'll have
his players entrenched, he better deliver next fall or all hell will break loose and we'll not only be looking ahead to his buy-out, but a new athletic director will soon follow.
If he doesn't win a
big game next fall, the wolves will be out in force. I think it's rather sad, but a win against SC or Texas, will buy him more time. A loss at Wake Forest will, well...keep watching for that one.
If he's smart, he'll appoint an offensive coordinator, Watson would be a good choice, I think his ego won't allow it.
Oh yeah props to Auburn on having a coach that knows how not to give a game away. Especially when it's handed to you.
Sam,
I always thought Alabama and Auburn hated one another like no other. I guess all the pre-game hoppla "families won't talk to each other during Iron Bowl week" is bunk, huh?
From here it seems all warm and fuzzy. Carson likes the boot licking as well.
Disappointing as to how that rivalry is erroneously portrayed. I'd expect from bama fan " beat the hell out of those Plainsmen, anybody!." expecially considering the ass raping they've been dishing out in your general direction for 4 or so years?
I have a whole new opinion of the rivalry. I won't be fooled by the pre-game hype again. Thanks for setting me straight.
Now I know why Army-Navy is the better of the 2 games on rivalry week-end.
