Just out of curiosity...

BamaFan wanted Fran's head on a stick after he repeatedly told his players and fans he wasnt going anywhere. Even a couple years after that, BamaFan was still extremely bitter and nasty towards Fran. Granted, with Fran's lack of success at A&M (thus far) you don't hear of this much anymore.

Now, you have hired someone who did the exact same thing to his team, albeit a pro team who wanted him to stick around. If and when Saban decides to hightail it out of Alabama, will you remember he did the same thing to get there? You know what kind of coach you've hired. Don't be surprised or hateful when he leaves you at the alter.

Fran's main fault was not telling his players he was leaving. That was pretty low.

Everyone knows Saban's history and saw what he did in Miami. We'll deal with his shit when he pulls it. In the meantime, let's win some games!
Nick better leave my boy Kevin Steele alone or I'll find him and fight him.

Bitter, maybe. Accurate, absolutely. Saban is a hypocrite and a snake.

Just as CowboyFan and EagleFan have no gripe about TO, DolphinFan should have no gripe about Saban. This is common knowledge amongst coaches and players alike. The world of sports, college or pro, is about $$$. Save the Harvard row boating team speak. I'm talking real sports.

It may be par for the course, but he is still a hypocrite and a snake.

Perspective.

Unbiased fan here...who gives a fuck? Happens every year.

FSU fan is really gripping over this hire because of its implications.
It is said that Bobby had a handshake deal with Fisher and it was to be finalized and publizized today.
Now Nick wants to hire Kevin Steele away as his D coordinator. I am okay with this as Steele certianly deserves it but I would really hate to loose him. We will have to wait and see how much integrity Jimbo has. Ala. would roll FSU if it came to a bidding war.

If UA hires Fisher, I'm curious how SACS will look on their BOT blocking UAB from hiring him (using mostly private money) and then turning around and hiring him themselves.

So if Bama gets slammed with NCAA violations and sanctions now that he has signed with the Tide, would you blame Saban for looking for greener pastures?

Fran wants to know.

No, I just remember that soon after Fran got to Bama, Bama got slapped with those sanctions where they could not play post season ball. It was not the situation he thought he had signed up for. It was part of the reason he left Bama for A&M.

Kinda like getting a job at Enron right before the shit hit the fan and then hightailing it once someone else gave you an offer. Who could blame ya? Of course Enron would be bitter, but who cares?

so Rome and Cowherd should apologize for thinking Saban was a honest man of his word?

A bit off topic, but Saban has contacted Major Applewhite to be his new OC.

Major grew up a Bama fan and him going there would be a major move upward. In 3 years he has gone from a GA, to QB coach at Syracuse, to OC at Rice and now maybe a OC at Bama.

That my friend is a fast track.

College OC would be a step back at this point. I think Chow is looking for a HC gig (college or pro) or is looking to ride out the rest of his career in the NFL for the pension.

Chow would be a very-good candidate for the Cardinals, Arizona or Louisville.
