I don't think kids today are more spoiled than they were before. I think it is the adults who are more spoiled. Think about that.

Just curious...how are adults spoiled? If anything, they're selfish. Kids are spoiled today but I also think parents have gotten lazy and their career sometimes in the way of being there for their kids. So to compensate, they'll spoil them to make up for time lost. The fact that kids are having kids isn't help things either. There's a level of maturity and responsbility to be a good parent and I certainly wouldn't expect an 18 or 19-year old to have that. Why else would they have a child at such a young age...they made a stupid mistake right there and I'm sure it's not the last mistake they make. When you have kids, you have to grow up immediately or that kid is doomed.

I was referring to Cohen doing a cover of "The Chemicals Between Us" at some piano bar, which drove some Muslim into a fit of murderous rage.
Whatever stops him from recording more "music" is a good thing. Allah be praised.

I participate in a business to school partnership program. I teach a class on marketing and business about 1 or 2 times a month. Last week, I taught a class on marketing to juniors and seniors.

As far as the cell phones, etc...
I teach Freshman English. At the beginning of the semester, I told my kids that, honestly, I didn't care if they had cell phones on them or not. I wasn't going to be like the other teachers and take it if I see it. BUT, I also told them that, if I saw them using it, for anything, I was going to take it.
I gave everybody one warning even. After that, I started taking the phones. I haven't seen one since about the 3rd week of school. Unless the kid asked. Depending on what's going on, I don't usually care. Everybody waits until class is "over" to ask anyway...
