A conservative estimate of the number of tickets (not including parking) I've gotten is prolly 25, mostly for speeding. Also got pulled over a few times and let off with warnings. I attended traffic school in SoCal at least seven times, with instructors who were cops and comedians, renting videos from Blockbuster, and taking it online. Had my license suspended for a month once for too many points (they wanted to suspend it for six months, but I Jewed 'em down). I think I put about 3K miles on my car during that month. Since moving out to the DC area, I wrecked two rental cars and have gotten three tickets - one for speeding, one for evading a traffic signal (cutting through a parking lot to avoid sitting at a long red light), and one for disobeying a highway sign (changing lanes at a highway convergence over a painted "island").

Anybody need a lift?

Yeah, I'm an excellent driver.

I was driving through Jersey Village on my way to get some lunch. Cop pulled me over for going low 40's in the 35. Gets out of the car and walks up to my truck. As I rolled down the window the sky opens up and it starts pouring on the poor copper. I acted like "Oh shit, that sucks," but on the inside I was like "HAHA!!! Jackass."

The cop yelled something like "Slow down asshole, you can go," and ran back to his car. I go to take a left and my truck fishtails because it is all wet outside and the cop pulls me back over. This time he comes walking back up to my truck wearing a pancho and gives me a ticket for failure to maintain controll of my vehicle.

I think I can take defensive driving.

Very UnWar

Is Cy Hill out .... further nw.... on 290 .... ?
Like halfway to where they churn out Blue Bell Ice Cream and still forbid dancin'.

I think I heard about it.

They keep movin' things further out to avoid Mexico, but alas, Mexico wins in the end.

Further out on 290, yet they lose idealism on the name. Cypress Hill HS will be named after a neighborhood that is on the school boundry...

What they don't tell you is that Cypress Hill is also one of the most awesomestly shitty gangsta rap groups in the world.

Do i wanna be a part of that? You betcha!!!
How am I gonna do it? Im the stadium announcer at Berry!!!

That the new stadium on Barker Cypress, right ... ?

The newest HS is Cypress Woods. It's on Skinner Road between Barker-Cypress and Spring-Cypress right off 290. Two new HS will open next year (Cy Lakes and Cy Ranch).

There's another HS going up where the massive Bridgeland subdivision is being built. Not sure of the name. It'll be Cy Something.

Hearty rack for 88. Always love a good JN reset...especially that one. Same one I used on my Pick'em rant.

I've gotten probably 15 or 16 tickets in the 14 years I've been driving. I drive 12 over the limit on cruise control. I drive keeping an eye on the medians for cops as best I can. When I am in a wooded area or another place where cops can easily hide, I slow it down to 8 over.

Bottom line, I just don't give a fuck. I never talk on my cell when I drive. I am a very defensive driver even though I speed. I just have to pay the price for my impatience. Only time I ever got screwed was one time, at 5:00 AM, I was headed to Atlanta and got pulled over for going 9 over on a tollway near Bowling Green. Cop was looking for drunk drivers as he gave me a breath test and a field sobriety test. He wasted 20 minutes of my time for going 9 over and when he was pissed I wasn't drunk, gave me a $179 ticket. Fuck that pig. Hope he takes one without a vest on.

If it's off of 290, it should be called Cy sit in fucking traffic. I lost my mind one morning and decided to take Fry up to 290 and then the beltway to the airport. Holy parking lot Batman. It makes the city planner who plotted I-10's capacity look like Albert fucking Einstein.

I'll take my plot in Katy and my I-10 traffic, thank you very much.

You just caught 290 at peak hours thats all. You cant get on it between 7AM and 7PM...other than that its fine. Much like the rest of Houston's freeways.

And if Cypress ____ has ton of schools named after it, freaking Klein ____ is a close second.

Not much chance at that. He's probably behind a desk now.

WHat would you do? Be an humble servant of the public and stay in your position at the same salary, or be an ASSHOLE and get promoted to an easier job with better pay?

Something's gotta chance in this policy.
I'm not a fucking meathead so I can't say what I would do if I was a cop. I'll never be flying down the highway 25 MPH over the limit nor will I be driving drunk. I'll take my medicine if he nabs me going 12 over on a rural road. Dude was out to get drunks that day, and it must have pissed him off good that I wasn't drunk. His first words to me were "Is this your car?" I wasnted to say "No, fucking Enterprise sticker on the trunk should have told you" but I was respectful and said "No sir, it's a rental." I'm always respectful to police officers. I understand the dude was looking for drunks. But when I didn't qualify, he should have given me a pass, not a $179 ticket for going 9 over at 5 AM in the middle of nowhere on a tollway.

His last comment to me... "We've had a lot of deer vs. cars lately. Slow it down." Fuck you, bitch. My dad lives in Texas. I don't need you to lecture me.

No shit. And he actually said that tickets on that tollway will not go against my record since it was in Kenfucky and I lived in Indiana. Great! That makes me feel better! Now go eat a bullet, pig!

We're talking about a major freeway here. US26 is a freaking parking lot for about 18 hours out of the day. And there's few decent alternatives.

Nothing like a landslide to put traffic issues into perspective.

I work in a business park and the local PD make it painfully obvious that a speed trap is being set up because they take the time to close off a lane for an hour so they can set up the unmanned speed speed sensors.. the sensors send a signal to an unmarked car a few hundred yards down and they pull over all the unsuspecting soccer moms and high school kids playing hookey.

I've only gotten 2 speeding tickets in my life- 1 from a state police officer who cut me a break on my speed (80-55, knocked it to 60 with no points) and a one from a county cop who decided to be a dick head (75-55- wouldn't get me under the 15+ mark)..

Luckily I haven't had to deal with the insurance implications and now they're both over 5 years.

If it wasn't allowed to use the HOV lanes to zip around town, I wouldn't fucking live here. I give all the props in the world to you Houston folks that have to drive in the main lanes. I would lose my mind.

What's got your vagina bleeding, speedbag?

I would consider sitting in traffic for three hours a day to be a real quality of life problem.

Which was my point, moron. If I didn't have the perk of using the HOV lanes, I wouldn't live here. It WOULD be a quality of life issue. I'd move somewhere else where the traffic was not so insane. Have you ever seen Houston's traffic? It might not be as ridiculous as LA's trafiic - nothing is - but it's a nightmare.

What part of my initial statement do you two brainiacs not comprehend?

It isn't your statement that I don't comprehend. What I don't comprehend is how someone with such delicate nerves can qualify to become a federal agent. Although I suppose the bureau doesn't discriminate towards those who possess a vagina.

Hey Fu what if you guys have to haul ass on the road somewhere on official bizness on zero notice... you call the local jurisdiction and tell 'em? I can't imagine y'all stopping having tripped a speed trap, but then having not stopped, initiating a chase scene. Just wonderin'.

Without proper interagency communications, that could be quite a clusterfuck. The local authorities might be tempted to roll those grass-clipping-strips across the highway to terminate the chase.

It stops him dead in his tracks. Of course, he wouldn't be in a "chase" in the first place because that would require to go fast. Going fast is dangerous, and can cause accidents, and accidents dent vehicles. Too risky.

You pull over, tell the officer what's going on and move along. We do have lights and sirens on our vehicles as well.
