Gabbert cancels official visit to Nebraska
By Brian Sumers
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
10/23/2007

Parkway West High quarterback Blaine Gabbert, the five-star recruit who has verbally committed to Nebraska, has canceled his official campus visit to the school, his father said.
ewf

it could be 2 4 and 5 star recruits going elsewhere by the weekend

the stranglehold NU has on Missouri recruits is over. they got some goodins, but its a new day!
His father also said that he hasn't decommitted.

The recruits are just playing the field and covering their bases. I'm sure up to 10 will drop off, but depending on the coach, many will stay. Funny how you're gloating on potential success in recruiting, which is only happening because Callahan's job is up in the air. Brag next year if you beat us when we actually have a coach that's not a dead man walking...

The one thing BC and company can do is recruit. It is a given we will lose some recruits with BC becoming a lame-duck. Though I'm not sure anymore if I want the kind of guys that buy into BC's spiel. It seems like he attracts too many softies looking ahead to the NFL.

We'll just have to hope the new staff can salvage this class. We'll definitely lose some guys. Hopefully we get some decommits back and can attract some new prospects that we weren't into before.

He can recruit because he promises a shot at playing time and to learn how to get to the NFL. The end result is that we have a squad of players that are all looking out for themselves. The next coach needs to do a lot and I mean... A LOT of team building exercises.

Ya BC is the type to make a bunch of promises. But making promises is good in terms of getting more guys with lots of stars by their names but you are trading-away focus on the team, heart, and common-sense.

As I'm sure you've read "We've got guys playing At Nebraska, not For Nebraska."

Agreed.

I haven't seen the Gabbert kid, but I have seen Blaine Dalton - the Kid from Blue Springs South.
Perfect fit for Mizzou - BSS runs the spread and will probably win it's second straight 6A title behind Dalton

It's perfect timing as he could take the reigns as a true freshman in '09
