Hilarious.

Will you still rate that a "big success" after Carr finds out in Carolina what it's like to play QB behind an actual NFL-caliber offensive line and rips the starting yob from Jake Delhomme?

Until the Texans figure out that they should probably get some GOOD offensive lineman to protect their QB (doesn't matter who he is, anybody taking snaps for that team should strongly consider a GOOD life insurance policy), they will never piss a drop.
and Carolina fans will warm to David when he is flushed out of the pocket and instead of throwing the ball away, runs out of bounds 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

I always marvels at how the media blamed the line. It was this same line that prodcued Dominic Davis errrrr Williams back to back 1000 yard seasons. Had he not been injured in 2005 and missed 5 games it would have been 3 straight. It also produced a pro bowl receiver, twice. Carr did get beat up. No doubt. But he also fumbled over 60 times. He also had happy feet and locked in on 1 receiver. He also was not a leader. He was never around the team. He did his own thing. David needed a change of scenery. He is a great guy and a role model. He is just an average QB. The Texans lost 4 close games last year. 2 were on the defense and 2 were on Carr. They win those games, they are 10-6. He still would have been gone. He lost the team and he lost the coach.

Harvdog is right about Carr.

Good guy, tough guy, but not a good NFL QB.

Denver's draft was better than KC's, that's all you need to know, Felix.
Your team is better, your off-season has been better, your coaching is better, and your draft was better.
Takes not a rocket scientist to understand that in 2007 your season will be better than KC's.

Rack Wagon for getting you to chase your tail.

I like the fact that Oakland gets Denver at Denver early ..... in Sept.
Weather shouldn't be a factor.

I'm a realist.
Oakland is a 2-14 team and Dungver is a 9-7 team.
On paper, the Hee Haws sweep the 'duds.

I doubt if you'll see JaMarcus in week 2.
I'm betting you see him on Dec 2nd though.

I love Oakland's off-season so far.

No predictions from me yet.

Well James, I was going to post after your little "call out" post earlier in the thread, but then, as much as now, I don't have much to offer. This year I didn't see much (other than the OSU players) of the guys we drafted (also: the promo video provided by the NFL, in which Anthony G. burned the Purdue DBs in several clips); I saw those games. Otherwise, most of these guys I frankly never saw them play a down.

We lost a ton of decent role players (too many from the defense IMHO), and this was a team that was trying to build/learn a system. Unlike the Pats teams of the past decade, it seems we are going to have to go through a rebuilding stage after the SB, rather than a "retool on the fly" type thing that N.E. was always pulling off. You always loose players after the "big game", but it seems like the Colts had a fire sale.
I liked Jason David's game; he wasn't a flashy player, but when the rest of the team couldn't tackle (and Bob was on IR), he was one of the few who stayed low, and kept trying to stop those 8-15 gains by the opp running backs. Nick Harper I didn't care much for; he seemed to be average at best. Cato June was quick, but he didn't have the size or strength to be an effective run stopper. Gilbert Gardiner was much the same, but didn't have the quickness that June had when it came to persuit. Still, that's four starters from last year, gone. Add in Mike Doss (who I really liked), and several role players who kept the depth chart tight, and we have a scary situation heading into the summer.

Of the new guys, I don't know why we used a 2nd round pick for an OL; we had to have a solid guy to replace Brandon Stokley, so I guess I'm OK with that pick (Gonzalez), we desparately needed DBs, so I hope Hughes is more talented than I expect him to be. Taking Pitcock in the 3rd leads me to believe that Cory Simon won't be back from his "mysterious illness" tha had him sitting last year, so depth on the defensive line would be nice.
Regarding the other four -- Coe, Session, Condren, and Dawson: Pollian and Dungy have had good luck drafting role players to fill gaps in the later rounds the last few years, so I'll have to wait and see. I read where Dungy said he liked what he saw of the new guys on Friday (their first workouts with the team), but it is MUCH too early to be evaluating potential.

Well James, that's the best I can do, with not knowing shit about the players we picked up. Info on some of these guys is virtually non-existent (I guess I could go to the school's website, and see what dirt I could dig up); so I'll have to take a wait-n-see approach.
