When I was a kid Pony is what you played after Little Leagues Majors, now they call that level Juniors and Pony is a different sanction, like Babe Ruth, that is closer to real baseball than Little League is. The fields in Pony adjust by division where in Little League they play one sized field from age 8-13. The team I coach is a Bronco division team, 11 and 12 year olds, but I do have some 10 year olds and had to bring up my younger son who will be 10 this month, they lead off and steal like real baseball, the bases are 70 feet away instead of the 60 that they would be in Little League and the mound if 48 feet away instead of 45. In Little League, even in the majors, a base runner can not leave the base he is on until the pitch crosses the plate. Mustang is for 9 and 10 year olds and it too has leading off and stealing but the bases are 60 feet and the mound is 44 feet away.DallasFanatic wrote:Just curious, but isn't "pony league" for 13-14 year olds? Isn't the 11-12 age called "Bronco" or something like that? Thats how it was when I played.
In Pony the team travels to Tournaments to get to the World Series instead of all star teams like in Little League.
yeah, I can give a shit about the opposing teams parents, they have their coach for that, Ill just stick to what is best for the kids on my team.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Socal, whatever you do bro, just don't worry about the parents of the other teams. They aren't your responsibility. That's the best advice I can give.
