The way the course is looking, Furyk ain't a bad pick.
Sure, he might see a 5 on the 288 yard par 3. But overall, it seems like the higher the pressure of the situation, the more likely to find the fairway The People's Champion becomes.
Definitely looking like a "follow the mower" tourney, and Furyk is well-equipped to play that way.
Bubba Watson and JB Holmes...not so much.

A friend of a friend had a similar story after getting sponsored on one of the minor-league tours. Went from cocky to very humble in a few short weeks.
Few things have been funnier in the history of sports interviews than Jordan's "I have no plans to join the PGA Tour at this time."
Gee, Mike, what a coincedence...I don't have any such plans at this time, either...since on a really good day, I'd whoop your ass...and I suck.
Dude plays 7 days a week and the best he can muster is an 8 handicap? And he quit his day job?
Barkley? Barkley?
I'm not all that good, even for a Weekend Warrior, and I'll play that dude for money any day. I'm guessing that anyone who has enough interest in the game to post in, or even read this forum would be all over that opportunity, as well.
If they're going to get celebrities' takes on golf tournies, how about finding some that don't embarress themselves in pro-ams? Maybe Kevin Costner, Kenny G(da' horrrah), or John Smoltz, to name a few?
Barkley?
Yeah, I was thinking about hiring him as my personal swing coach. And Jordan must have watched too many Palmer highlights, because that's who it looks like MJ patterned his swing after, but without all of that "keeping it in plane" stuff. Not quite as ugly as Barkley(then again, Stephen Hawking probably has a nicer swing than Sir Charles), but Jordan's stroke is none too pretty, either. Hell, those clowns make me look like I'm starring in a golf training video.

If Ben Hogan would puke after watching Craig Parry, he would fucking explode after watching Barkley.

Both my roommates from college played for the Hooters Tour and were good friends with Campbell, Taylor, and ZAAAAAAACCCCKK. After gaining that experience of getting oh so close to winning a tourney, they came back and told me that usually if someone won a tourney on the Hooters Tour, they went on to win a Nationwide Event and a PGA event.

When everyone gets a chance to chime in, we'll tally up the pick'em results.
So far, it's
QBert -- Angel
Dins -- Angel
I'm not sure, but I think a few others in here had Angel to win it all...
RACK us.

Are you kidding?
Cabrerra pounded a drive 397 on Sunday at the US Open. Ken refuses to believe it, and has sworn the PGA/USGA off as being a staged event, much like the WWE.
Furyk trying to lay up on the short par 4 with his driver was pretty funny, in a sad sort of way. The one time he decides to anti-Ken, it screws him.
Wait...isn't Furyk from Pittsburg, too? Do all Pittsburg golfers hit like Freddy Mercury after one too many AZT pills?

D-U-M-B
and he was trying to cover his own stupidity.
two "perfectly" executed KEN's might have = a Birdie.
...what....was it 2 160yd. shots?
(he WENT for it...he LOST AGAIN)
Furyk WILL Win an OPEN at some point....(might be the BC...err...something....)

Oh...I get it...it's a Majors pick'em thread. I think the spirit of the Pick'em rules is that you can drop your prediction up to 4 days after-the-fact...but I think 4 years is pushing it a bit.
But FWIW, I had Jimbo down as my pick for the 2003 US Open, too.
