You do play Cincinnati some in the coming years correct?

Sam...I was making more of a point is that you and many SEC honks think tOSU was that shitty...

but if UF was so mediocre how did they beat LSU so bad? Why did they beat Arkansas by 2 TD's in the championship game? I mean UF was a good squad...tOSU was a good sqaud...but they played bad on one night...all the props in the world to UF and what not but it is laughable that you think tOSU was soooo mediocre...if the SEC was so good and tough why wasn't LSU, UF, or Auburn ranked #1 to start the season? Just asking...? Now on the other hand the speed argument...tOSU had great speed last year...everyone wanted Ginn, Gonzo, Boone (OL), James L, O Neal, etc...what just because they went to tOSU they suck ass and are slow? Come on Sam you can do better than that...hell one of UF's best players was from VA (Harvin) and their RB was from Ohio (Wynn)...so what if Ginn goes to UF or insert SEC school he all of a sudden becomes that much faster...

you want to talk speed...Ginn had 10 yards on one of UF's fastest players on his kick off return...granted 1 player but tOSU had the players and talent to match up they flat didn't get it done...this is why people hate on the SEC so much...you think that a team from another conference shows up and loses a game that their talent is shit...

Mucho...yes we got Cincy a couple times and Army, and a couple other mid major types...

Sam congrats on the 78 Bowl win! 29 years...nice...isn't there some type of statue of limitations on this stuff?

By the way I am with you...I can't wait for this to get started...

Personally, I am always interested in the OSU/Cincy game. The Bearcats usually play the Bucks pretty hard. I guess a lot of those kids grow up Buckeye fans, and would have attended OSU if they'd been recruited. So, they have something to prove.

I was impressed by PSU's win over Tennessee. That PSU team was not the same one that got utterly horse-whipped by the Domers in early September.

I think the top teams of the major conferences are all pretty well-stocked with speed these days. I don't like how the analysts always act like SEC teams, by virtue of being Southern, are categorically "faster".

I can't imagine how a LB can be "faster" than Dan Connor. Football speed is not measured by a stopwatch. It is measured in how well you read and react, how instinctively you pursue, etc.

When Miami suited up undersized guys on defense, the analysts had a field day - here was a wrinkle that they could understand, and not sound foolish explaining over the air! I think all things speed have evened out now, at least with top 10 caliber teams...

playing 1 tough OOC opponent in 4 OOC games is nothing to pat your shool on the back for, especially if the other 3 are vs patsies at home.

USC OOC Schedule
2006 Arkansas, Nebraska, Notre Dame
2007 Idaho, Nebraska, Notre Dame
2008 Virginia, Ohios State, Notre Dame
2009 San Jose State, Ohio State, Notre Dame
2010 Hawaii, Virginia, Notre Dame

Pac 10 teams only get 3 OOC games and in some years play 5 road conf games and USC still has BCS opponents for 2 out of 3 or all 3 OOC games every year
The Trojans have 2 open dates for 2011, get on the phone with your schools AD, send them letters tell them that theres a directional school in california willing to play anyone, anywhere, anytime

Schmick...I merely pointed out that tOSU is ducking no one when it comes to scheduling an OOC game...I commend them for that...

oh and don't act like Virginia is something special...mid level ACC at best...

I commend for tOSU, but you have played ND forever...

but SJSU is not something to brag about there sport...we played them 2002...beat em 55-13 if memory is correct so take them off of your great OOC rant...

and again I wasn't patting tOSU on the back... for the one school I was merely pointing out that they have the nads to take one of their dates and schedule a big boy...plus Cincy is no pushover and I would rate them about as good as Virginia...

Sam...not hating necessarily...but tOSU had a bad night...I mean to come back after losing what they did in 2005 with FIVE first round picks and go undefeated and make the MNC game with a whole new defense and whatever is pretty cool for my alma matre...am I into moral victories hell no...but 115 other schools would have traded places...

I just hate when people automatically assume they are dogshit because of one bad night...I mean every year it happens in a BCS or MNC game where a team usually has a bad night

whats the akron, youngstown, cincy arguement? Oh yeah, USC was just trying to keep the money in state with their game vs San Jose

55-13, USC did that to an SEC team on the road

apparently reading comprehension is not your strong point...I am already on record that this years tOSU schedule sucks...

i just merely pointed out that they are one of a few schools that is scheduling a non con heavyweight...

great that USC beat Arkansas that bad...awesome...

don't hurt yourself patting yourself on the back...

Seems that the Ohio State Buckeyes have backed out of its game with the Cal Bears...

Of course m200L you would pull that out...

nowhere that I have looked does it say that tOSU back out...I have read all the sites, daily papers from C Bus year round and nothing was made of them backing out...

maybe Tedford wants to back out since the last time he ventured east his vagina got blistered...

as far as I know Kal vs tOSU is still happening...besides maybe that want a better game...who knows maybe Louisville or someone wants to play us...you know teams that actually make and win BCS games...

To be fair, he started pimping UT before the dryfuck, because he knows what's inevitable the moment the gummy bears leave strawberry canyon.

Beating down the Urine Unis is no great shakes. Face it, Sam, the SEC will get no respect from me until they beat a TOP BIG 10 TE...err...ahh...hey, how are my ellipses?

It would be nice if you came to Tampa to play USF, but I know that isn't happening.

Sudden Sam wrote:Maybe with Saban's connections to the Big Ten, he'll look at doing something like that. Hell, I'd love to see Bama play any Big Ten school...or Big 12...or Pac 10 on a regular basis. Set up some kinda rotating thing between two conferences. Never happen, though.
An MSU-Bama home-n-home would be interesting for obvious reasons. I can't recall the last time Michigan State has played an SEC team during the regular season. I doubt I was alive/cognizant of CF at whatever time it happened. The last meeting of any sort between the two was Florida's defeat at the hands of State in the Citrus Bowl back in '99 - a game that NOBODY thought MSU would win, even though they were going up against a bit of a hapless UF team. But afterall, it was an over-achieving little Big Ten squad versus the mighty Florida Gators...which was basically a home game for them. It was already decided on paper. Fortunately they decided to go ahead and play the game anyway.

More Pac 10/SEC matchups would be a good thing, assuming the SEC is willing to get on a plane. It's tough to compare these two conferences beyond national rankings because I don't believe there's a single bowl that pits the two conferences head to head.

By the way, I've always had to chuckle at the "our conference schedule is too tough" argument SECHonk likes to toss out there every now and then in response to why they don't play more tough OOC games (home or away).

On one hand, you boldly put on display how dominant and mighty your conference is, yet in the same breath you speak to how vulnerable your teams are. I dunno, I guess if you're truly the BEST, playing a road game in The Shoe, at Austin, or in Autzen wouldn't be asking too much of you.

Christ, take a stand already. Enough of this "We're the best....Buuuuuuut, it's too risky to play a tough OOC game due to the rigors of our conference schedule" Bullshit.

MGO valid points...but again I still maintain until the NCAA mandates something any institution will take advantage and schedule cream puffs or whatever...

I have pointed out many times...I would love to see the likes of:

tOSU vs insert top 4 or 5 SEC team
tOSU vs insert top 4 or 5 Big 12 team

Michigan vs the same
LSU vs top 4 or 5 Big 10 team

I mean we would be talking

tOSU vs FLA or LSU or Auburn
Michigan vs Georgia
LSU vs Wisconsin
tOSU vs Nebraska

etc, etc...the fans want it...it would make the NCAA tons of caysh with advertising, hype, etc...but it falls on deaf ears...until that happens according to Schmick USC will be the only school that has 3 tough non con opponents (cough SJSU, cough)...

but I do like where some teams are going:

Michigan annually has ND and Oregon or someone of that caliber
tOSU is scheduling a huge non con game every year starting next year and just came off the Texas run
Bama and FSU are hooking up
LSU and Va Tech are hooking up
I just heard what Clemson and Auburn are hooking up

so we have some movement just not enough
