Settlement construction continues in the West Bank.
Israel is continuing the construction of illegal settlements in the West Bank despite its pledge to freeze expansion.
The Israeli group, Peace Now, has revealed the growth of the Jewish population in the West Bank settlements is three times higher than in other parts of the occupied Palestinian territories, the BBC reported.
Israeli settlements in the occupied territories are deemed illegal under international law, the report said.
Israel had pledged to stop their construction as part of internationally-backed peace efforts.
Peace Now says there is continuing construction in 88 out of about 150 of the authorized settlements, in addition to the building of permanent structures in 34 unauthorized settlement outposts.
"There is no connection between what is happening in political negotiations and what is happening on the ground," Peace Now's Director-General Yariv Oppenheimer has told Israeli Army Radio om Wednesday.
