FOR GOD'S FUCKING SAKE, FOR THE 800TH TIME...
App St. plays in D1AA(FCS), which has absolutely NOTHING to do with D2.
Matter of fact, they've won the last 2 D1AA Championships in pretty convincing fashion.
If you're going to constantly cite this "fact" in every other post, you
might wanna get your "facts" straight.

If that is the case, then we'll see a repeat of last year - where the superior team is the 1 loss team, and that is proven in the MNC game. I think OSU is a better team this time around.

Can't. Stop. Laughing.
"Louisiana Tech" alone should provide enough rationale to keep them out.
Time to send a message to SEC ADs.
Okay...I'll bite....and I-AA Youngstown State? Kent? Akron?
No way you can justify it....LSU played Va Tech....Ohio State...no one?
Dins.....without being a massive hypocrite.....explain your reasoning...or are you now including OSU?
(last year has NOTHING to do with this year and playing for a title)

Uhm... wanna point out where I've ever defended OSU's schedule, or where I've said they should be #1?
If I had to pick two teams to send to the title game TODAY, it would be Oregon and probably LSU. OSU can go fuck themselves for doing the 1AA thing, and OU didn't exactly schedule tough.
BUT... I'm not qualified to be objective, since I have a dog in the fight, and there's plently of ball left to be played, so I won't go too far out on a limb naming who should be playing for the title TODAY.

Considering you and I haven't exactly got along.....I have no problem saying Oregon is more deserving than OSU....LSU as well....that begs my question.....just because you go undefeated.....should you play for a title regardless of schedule?

Uhm... if we roll the clock back about 10 months, you'd notice that I was screaming from the mountaintops that Boise State needed to shut up and go away.

No.
They're quite a bit better than what they showed in the
first game, though.

Thanks for the equivalent of spelling smack Dins. People understand the basic point, UM lost to a team from a lower division no matter what label you apply to it. Just like you paranthetically pointed out it isn't even D1AA anymore. It's the division that plays for championships instead of bowls.

Here's the deal...
Much of the BCS system is still dependant on the pollsters. And while they give us much reason to doubt them, it still remains that pollsters are, in fact, human beings.
And if you think for one second that the pollsters want to see a couple of months of hype leading up to the championship game that involves seeing Mangino on their televisions any more than the absolute minimum possibe, you're crazy.
If I'm a pollster, there's no way I rank Kansas any higher than 5... just because I don't want to see that digusting pig on my TV during what should be a happy time for CFB fans.
Plus, there's bigtime television revenues at stake, and I doubt the networks want to risk a long delay due to having to cart the GooBall off the field because of a heart attack. It just wouldn't make good economic sense to put KU in the Title Game.
