Boy for a team that peaked in September they sure have beaten some good teams throughout the year. 34 points against the #1 defense in Dec wasn't too shabby either....

It appears that they will go 16-0. I don't think the Giants give too much of a shit about this game.
Looks like the Steelers or Chargers will go to Foxboro for the divisional playoff game. That should be a pretty easy win for New England either way.
Colts in the AFC title game will be the loss, or Dallas in the Super Bowl. I'd like to "call it" and pick one of those games as the disaster game, but all I can say is, it will be one of those games. So, we know that the Pats will get to at least 17-0 before losing.
basically what we are looking at here is a modern version of the Run and Shoot, which is easy to catch up to. The Patriots fans are petrified to admit this. This was a disasterous idea....to go to the Run N Shoot, as opposed to having a balanced attack. That's how the Patriots won three Super Bowls. This new Houston Oilers shit is going to fail come playoff time. Plus, their defense is no better than those Oilers/Falcons teams of the late 80s.
Even Wade Phillips can figure out how to stop it.

Well in that article you can see that for the 15 games they have played so far they are 10th in
ov erall rushing at like 120 yards per game. 10th also in yards per carry at 4.2. Not a bad sampling to say that the Pats can and do run the ball.....

While not excellent, the Pat's running game is .... sufficient.
As Neely cited, they're 10th in the league in rushing yds.
I'd be more concerned about my team's ability to stop the run if I was Pats fan.
4.4 yds per carry allowed is well below average -- 26th in the league.
Then again, last year's Champs, the Colts, were dead last in both rushing yds allowed and yds per carry allowed -- 5.3.
YIKES!!
I'd consider last year's Super Bowl winning team to be very much an abberation though, with those defensive numbers.
You just don't find championship teams doing that poorly against the run.
It's truly very stunning.
Even the '99 Rams, considered a 'soft' team that just slung it all over the place, were 1st in the league in rushing yds allowed and 5th in yds per carry allowed -- 3.6.
Ultimately I believe three factors will contribute to NE losing in the playoffs.
- failure to stop the run
- extra pressure due to being undefeated and trying to run the table
- officiating

Trust me, they WILL lose in the playoffs. I guarantee that they will win Sunday and that they will win in two weeks vs. whoever they play in the Div. round, but they are fucked against either the Colts or the Cowboys.

I am shocked that they got this far. Guess they were fortunate to not have to play the Colts.
I still think there is something in the air about this game and this season and that the Giants are a team on a mission. The only thing about them that is questionable is the secondary, but they've been playing pretty well lately.
Dan Patrick was on the Letterman show last night and said he thinks New York will win the Super Bowl. He gave some good takes as to why they would win, too.
We'll see. If the Patriots end up 19-0 I'll look like a dumbass.

I think what people don't realize here is how suspect the Patriots defense is. I think it's good for the GIants that Plax is getting all the attention, because under the radar, Brandon Jacobs will run WILD in this game. And that Bradshaw dude has the potential for a fluke game. The Patriots can't match his speed, and he can easily get a fluke 80 yard run.
I watched Eli Manning carve up the Packers solid secondary in blueass clod weather, and I just see him moving the chains left and right in this game. The Patriots linebacking corps will look VERY old when all is said in done. They will be gasping for air in the 3rd quarter. Giants 30, Patriots 24 is my prediction.
