Does Canada have a town that mimics Kansas City in its beliefs, customs, and traditions? ---> IKYABWAI?

Good job there uber tard.

Windows is an operating system on top of another operating system, MS-dos.

Mac isn't designed that way, thus it works faster.
None of that really is accurate.

Both use many layers to filter down to machine-level code...0s and 1s.

OS X actually has a terminal window, much like the many flavors of Linux. One of the marketing tenets is that the OS is based on Unix - actually, it is based on FreeBSD. One can open this window and execute shell commands...although the idea of your average Mac user doing that makes me laugh out loud every time.

Both operating systems execute a variety of complex commands that filter down through various levels before they get to machine code. Both rely on computing power to do this...either you have a powerful computer that does it fast, or you have a slower computer that struggles to do so.

By the way, in the real world, FreeBSD and other operating systems are updated frequently. What Mac does is take a slice of that development process and can it up in the guts of OS X...basically ending the ongoing process of updates and refinements, until you get the latest big marketing release, Leopard, or Alley Cat, or whatever. This is truly bizzare - and sorta makes that "Based on UNIX" thing pointless.

But hey - that's OK, as long as the pews are still filled with the Jobs faithful.
Listen, mister, I don't know where the hell you think you're at, but an interweb message board is no place for knowledge-based, well thought out posts. This was motoring along just fine with hyperbole and bullshit and you came along and pissed on the campfire. Nice going, threadkiller.

Why don't you tell us, oh great flying tank-sailor? You've been here right? Getting shot down by some of our lovely honeys?

Oh yes, been there many times. Love Comox, BC. People are nice and friendly. Your Snowbirds Air demo team where in the O-Club last time I was there and where all kinda silent against the wall while wearing their orange flight suits.

After bastardizing their "game" of snooker, I looked over at them and invited them for Molson's and they were totally cool. Like you, they had no idea how to deal with American warriors. Every single one of the cannucks both military and civilians were totally cool.

WTF is wrong in your province? A bunch of pasty-white whales that spend all day on the internet collecting paychecks, that couldn't get laid in a morgue pollute this once semi-readable board. You are worse than any KC tard because you have no personality other than to attack your daddies, the Americans.

You are the absolute worst parasite on this board and that's saying something you fucking shit troll. I would love to tell you something different other than you post with IKYABWAI... but that's your posting career you worthless, cowardly, piece of shit.

Read this on a forum today:
Got two kids; one is going to Australia soon and we'd like to be able to get her IPod up and running. Problem is that around six months or a year ago, our computer had an automatic update and screwed up Itunes and Quicktime; we've tried a million times to get both programs up and running again, without any luck.

A thought: we have an older computer that had Itunes and Quicktime on it and our idea is to hook that one up and use that program. My question: we have Comcast internet; how easy would it be to simply switch the internet cable to the old computer? Would the internet connection start right up? Is it worth the trouble or the risk? Thanks in advance.
Apple has succeeded in flummoxing the average user into misunderstanding the following:

-You have a computer
-The computer connects to the internet
-you have a music file
-that music file can be purchased on the internet, or ripped from a cd, or obtained via a file-sharing network, or even downloaded free of charge from an artist's site
-the music file can be placed on a cd, or on a portable player

Why have they done this? To make money, of course, by convincing simpletons tha their well-designed products are "perfect"and work flawlessly always - which is complete poppycock, of course.

Macs are definitely the more trendy choice but I've used PCs all along. If you go into graphic design or animation, Macs are considered the industry standard...at least that's what the colleges get you prepared for. It was all about Macs when I was getting through college. I've got an HP laptop for what I presently do and it's the same machine I've had for all 3 years I've been at my company. It's needed a RAM upgrade from time to time but it's been pretty reliable.
