I'm pretty fired up myself. Going to be there. Leaving the Cleveland area around noon, checking into the Varsity Inn, walking down to party central with my styrofoam cooler full of beer, meeting some friends for a roped off tailgate, drinking as much as possible before 7:30, heading to the stadium to watch the band enter, get goose bumps and a tear in the eye, take a looooong leak, sit down in my section-D 20 yard line seats and hope to watch one HELL of a game.

I quit making predictions. Go Bucks

I watched a Big Ten showdown and an SEC meatgrinder broke out...there might be more scoring in Game 3 of the World Series than in this one.

Nice, hard-fought victory for Penn St. I like how Herbstreit completely looks past MSU. :)

Tough, hard-fought win. It's pretty amazing to see PSU beat UM, then beat tOSU in the shoe.

I'm definitely ready to believe this team can go the distance, seeing as we've gotten this far.

It's amazing how evenly matched the teams were. I think the three elements that allowed PSU to win were the 2 PI calls, the fumble, and the int.

I wasn't expecting PSU to have an impact defense this year, but I was wrong.

Good game, Bucks. For those who were in on the sig/av bet, here ya go, verbatim from last week:

Looking like PSU will play Texas for all the bananas. I think bama gets tripped-up by Florida in the CCG.

racks to psu for making the plays when it was needed. a true freshman at QB and a true freshman at center just made too many mistakes. (ok just 2 mistakesbut 2 too many.)

props to psu, hope you guys win it all!

They have a knack for pulling huge upsets, especially late in the season. How much more college football do you need to watch to be mindful of things like this? PSU will probably win, but it's not smart to look past anybody in conference...unless they're winless or something. Just sayin'.

Rack the fuck out of the Gritty Lions. That defense stepped up when they had to.

Pryor definitely played like a freshman down the stretch. On the play where he threw the interceptions, I think he could've ran for 20 yards. I could be wrong, but that right side of the field looked wide open for him to take off.

Oh well, great game. PSU and 'Bama might be splitting some second place votes this week. We'll see.

Oh, so when you win it's a month, but if you lose, it's just a week?

Good win for PSU...hard fought game....and good luck to the Lions...

OSU is playing now for Cap One...10-2 if they win out and Cap One probably v LSU or loser of UGA v UF...

can't say I am happy about a defeat but at least the team showed up...the defense played very good...offensively OSU can't settle for FG's when they get in red zone...it bit Cooper in the ass in the 1996 Michigan game and it will continue to bite Tressel in the ass unless he opens things up...

I refuse to hang my head as a Buckeye Fan...3 games left...they win and go 10-2 and win bowl game and finish 11-2 with what they turned over offensively in the early part of this season will only pay dividends for next year...

i don't remember the camera angle at the Shoe being quite so vertigo inducing.....jeez, it was like being in a zeppelin.

good game though. that and UT-Ok State were legit matchups.

Buckeye, if PSU wins out and OSU wins out I could see OSU getting a Rose Bowl bid...or is there something I'm not seeing here?

If PSU winds up dismantling MSU, I sincerely hope to see an undefeated PSU, Bama, and Texas at the end of the year. Hell, throw in Texas Tech too. I want to see mass chaos and melting at an all time high. Maybe Jim Delaney will be murdered on a grassy knoll somewhere.

fo' sho.

from reading the headlines you'd think devlin was the reason psu won. i only remember one pass attempt, which was a pi call. other than that, he handed the ball off. nick sheridan could've done that.

Greg, agree. For that matter, I don't think PSU necessarily even needs to win out for tOSU to get a BCS bid, albeit somewhere other than the Rose.

By process of elimination, if nothing else. There are four at-large BCS bids, and no conference can get more than one. The ACC and Big East have no shot at an at-large bid this year. And the only shot the Pac-10 would have at an at-large bid is if someone other than USC wins the conference, which I don't see happening. So three of the six BCS conferences are almost completely out of the running for a BCS at-large bid. So is Notre Dame.

Assuming that the Big XII and Meatgrinder each get one at-large bid, and one at-large bid goes to a non-BCS team, that leaves one at-large bid remaining. Short of two at-large bids going to non-BCS teams (I'll concede that's a possibility this year, but I still think it's rather unlikely), that leaves the Big Ten as the only other possibility. And tOSU is the only possibility for an at-large bid out of the Big Ten, assuming Penn State wins the conference.

If tOSU wins out, I think they're in the BCS regardless of what else happens.
