I thought the hit was fine, but one question Bri.....

Do you really want to referrence a story from the Herald at all? Their credibility on anything around here is pretty weak. I mean after all the Patriots taped the Rams walk through according to them...

What hell do I care what Bostonians think of the Herald? The guy turned a nice phrase that said what I wanted to say better than I could at the moment, so I quoted it and gave him credit for it. I could give a fuck if he or anyone else on that paper's staff loves or hates the Pats. The fact remains that Clark won't be fined.

Actually, you quoted 3 separate paragraphs (not "a phrase") and didn't attribute ANY of them to its author. You said, "Boston Herald." Your citation skills, much like the rest of the garbage you post here, are seriously lacking.

So, which "phrase" were you enamored with? Care to narrow it down?

I included a link with the quote. If it is beyond somebody's abilities to trace said link back to the name of the author on the byline, then they can fuck off. Christ, who appointed you to Dinsdale this thread up with arcane and useless drivel?

From Usatoday.com without the Borges spin job:

The NFL will not discipline Steelers safety Ryan Clark for a hard hit on Patriots WR Wes Welker that knocked the wideout out of Sunday's game.

The hit, which occurred across the middle of the field with Clark slightly elevating, was within the rules because, NFL VP of officiating Mike Pereira told the Boston Herald.

“A lot of people think it’s a foul to leave your feet,” Pereira said. “Launching is not a foul. There is nothing in the rulebook that states that at all. It’s a misconception people have.

“It is a foul to hit with your helmet against a defenseless receiver. It is a foul to throw a forearm into the neck or head area of your opponent. I don’t think either of those things happened. I’m not a fan of those high hits but if you do it with your shoulder you’re OK.”

While Clark led with his shoulder, since he did not hit Welker with his helmet, he stayed within the rules.

“When you look at it and slow it down it probably was not an illegal hit," Pereira said. "You might have to factor in that it was deflected early and does that make it become late. But the actual hit itself is probably OK.”

Probably OK? Way to go out on a limb there, douche. >>> "Does that make it become late???"<<< GREAT QUESTION!

That's what you should have been ruling on, asshat. Way to touch upon the issue then gloss over it.

See... I am fairly certain most people were questioning whether or not the hit was necessary, not the "type" of the hit. All along, I have maintaned that Clark's hit was late (see also, unnecessary roughness), not that he left his feet or used his head. Upon further review, this Pereira fellow has been added to my list of colossal dumbfucks.

Not many things will EVAR be funnier than Pats fan (and ucunt especially) crying because league douchebag Mike Pereira came out and put a wack spinjob on a field ruling.

Can't.
Stop.
Laffing.

I don't know about you, but whenever I am asked for my "expert opinion" on the job, I like to sprinkle in as many "maybes" and "probablies" as possible to ensure I come off looking like I don't really know WTF I am talking about.

It's a shame Clark didn't say anything about Welker having sloppy seconds on an ex-g/f of his…maybe then dude would have been fined and/or suspended. Oh wait, my bad… wrong sport.
