Yes, dislocated elbows are "hilarious".
Nothing like trying to play football with one arm.
Killian wrote:Good running backs put up yards against the big boys, even when they are knicked up, not just when they play against shitty defenses.
Sayin' a dislocated elbow, hurt foot, and a sprained ankle is just "knicked up".... is like saying Darryl Stingley just had a little bruise and should have shook it off.
Killian wrote:Best is a change of pace back. A very good one, but nothing more.
If Jet blue didn't play at Cal.... all of you would be talking about what a "freak" this guy is.
It's that simple.
He played hurt most of the season, and averaged 8.01 ypc (which nobody in the NATION even comes close to) and led the PAC 10 in rushing.... this while having 8 and 9 players on the defense in the box because Cal can't throw the ball.

now cal can't throw? riley's already hurt that you're cheating on him, and it's only recently longshore found someone new to buy chimes from.

It's more that Cal lost two receivers to the NFL... and the young guys are having a hard time catching the ball. Maybe I should have said "passing game".
Longshore always hits the open guy.... they just happen to be on the other team.

No, we really wouldn't. If he played at any school besides Cal, we likely wouldn't have seen him for more than a handful of carries because he wouldn't be able to carry the load. I'm sure that Best is the first back in the history of forever that had to deal with those injuries. Maybe if he wasn't such a pussy, he wouldn't get hurt as much.

Scoreboard m2. Quizz has it and Best doesn't.
Quizz lead his team to wins over Cal and USC, something Best couldn't do.
You can run all the "ref" smack you want, but I will be happy to put my playing, ref, and broadcasting experience up against your "homerism" any day.
But let's put that aside for a minute and take the opinion of 11 guys who certainly know more about football than either you or I, and prolly combined. The PAC 10 coaches have selected Quizz as not only the PAC 10 Frosh of the year, but also as the PAC 10 Offensive Player of the Year. Further, it was unanimouns for Quizz. What that means is even Coach Tedford selected him.

Yeah think ?
Jet blue... plays for Cal.

C'mon... you're supposedly one of the "brighter" guys here, being that you went to Rice.
Tedford lamented the fact coaches are asked to submit their All-Pac-10 ballots before the season ends. Coaches had to vote before last week's games, when Best rushed for 311 yards and four touchdowns to take a commanding lead over Oregon State's Jacquizz Rodgers in the conference's rushing race.
Rodgers was named the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year.
"I always feel like we jump the gun," he said. "I'm not saying Jacquizz doesn't deserve it. What I'm saying is I have a hard time understanding why we don't wait until the end of the season to vote on things.
Sometimes, we haven't even seen guys who are on the ballot. Jacquizz did a great job. But I think all the information has to be in."
Tedford said he voted for Best and linebacker Zack Follett as offensive and defensive players of the year.
You do know that.....the votes were submitted with 60% of the league having regular season games to play.
The votes were submitted before "Jet blue" won the Rushing Title....
.... just trying to help you out.

if Best is so good, then why is Cal playing such a crapass bowl game?
outside the refs and Eastern Time Zone.

Well Best was either injured or coming off an injury in the games he didn't rush for 200+ yards.
Also, Kal can't throw. This was apparently due to losing players to the NFL.
Hope that helps.

California RB Jahvid Best.... a.k.a. "Jet blue"....
The 2009 Top 25 Heisman Contenders
4. Jahvid Best, RB California
Uhhhhh, who? Non-USC Pac 10 players are normally ignored, Oregon's Dennis Dixon being the exception a few years ago, and no one outside of the Left Coast has any clue who Best is. That's going to change in a big hurry as he'll be the hot under-the-radar-guy-who-suddenly-becomes-hip candidate. Rushing for 512 yards and six touchdowns in the final two games of the season will do that. Despite being hurt for stretches, he finished the year with 1,394 yards and 13 touchdown runs.
The voting happens when the voting happens. If you think it is stupid then work to get it changed. Hell, if Tedford thinks it's stupid he should work to change it.
That said, even with a vote that takes place after the last game I dare say Quizz still wins POY. He is also still unanimous on the All PAC 10 team. Dude only finished 103 behind Best and was monster in the biggest game of the year.

Best is a damn fine running back, there's no doubt about it. There's also no doubt that he wishes m2ool would quit fucking rooting for Cal and jerking off to him. He's an embarrassment to the other faggots errrrrr Kal fans.

Uhh, no. Actually nothing like that.
Quizz, 2-0 vs Cal and USC.
Best 0-2 vs OSU and USC.
Game. Set. Match

It's too bad Tedford felt it would be better to let Nate try and throw the ball with Cal up 14-0.
A squeaked-out win over Tha U is nothing to be thumping your hollow, sunken chest about. Show a little dignity for once.

Not to mention it was a virtual home game for Kal. War waking up and pulling out a meaningless win against a mediocre U team.

Not to prop mtool and I know Miami isn't all that but even so, I thought the kid ran pretty damn well. It was really the only thing worth watching in that game.
Great cut back and change of direction runner. If he can stay healthy, and that's a big IF, he'll be playing on Sunday before long.

I knew the moment Nate Longshore was starting that Cal was going to be in trouble (at least of not covering the spread). That dude was a SERIOUS liability this year. Fuck Cal. That was about the only game I viewed as a lock, and they still couldn't cover...at home.

Tedford tried to piss that game away, relying on Lonshore was just stupid. Cal should've ground-out a pretty convincing win on Best's shoulders with Riley as qb. Fortunate for Ted that Shannon's definition of clock-management is knowing where to finde the snooze-bar.
Best can really fly. One thing I do like about Ted is he always has a solid rushing-attack.

i was lucky enough to have a good junior high coach in both hoops and football. what shannon's staff did re: clock management was a joke. we were smarter than that in 9th grade. some sad shit.
did you know Randy Shannon was a linebacker for Miami?

Crowd-wise, sure.
Travel-wise... It's probably a toss-up as to whether it's faster to hop on a plane in Miami and take a shuttle to the stadium, or to try and drive from East Bay. Sure, BART would be an option, except around half of the players would be in the hospital with knife wounds before they made it across on the Richmond line.
