Felix, the president's unconstitutional actions are numerous and you can do your own research into.
It's not difficult.

Was anyone given a realistic amount of time to READ the "stimulus" bill before being called to vote on it?
No.

It was an ... *EMERGENCY*

lol

The bill appropriates money to states, but requires states to comply with federal demands in order to receive the money.
Some of the demands of the fed violate STATE constitutions.

D'OH!!

Government ownership (nationalization) of U.S. banks is blatantly unconstitutional.
And on and on it goes, really ...

Look, as mvscal said, B.O. is all about consolidating his own power at the expense of the taxpayers ... at the expense of YOU.

The fact that you can't get enough bangs of his mushroom to the back of your throat isn't too damn funnay or anything.

You dope.

they're not demands, they're requirements.....remember, the states have the alternative to turn the money down....no one is FORCING them to take it

unless said bank is going down the tubes and taking all of the peoples savings with it....of course, then the FDIC would have to step in to guarantee all deposits of up to $250,000, so I'm not exactly sure why you think the government rescuing a few banks is all that bad....

seriously, you and your ilk need to take a different tact...the democrats are NOT OUT TO DESTROY the country....they're not out to TURN THIS INTO A SOCIALIST SOCIETY......Obama is NOT A MARXIST and he's not a COMMUNIST either

again what the fuck do you care, you're Korean now

"Federal prosecutors last week dropped the case against the former lobbyists, Steven J. Rosen and Keith Weissman, saying recent court rulings had changed the legal dynamics and made it unlikely they would win. "

sorry it wasn't the Democrats that were wiretapping a representative of the United States congress (which of course is illegal), but never mind that, Harman was more than willing for the wiretaps to be released which she said would vindicate her

I'd like to hear those wiretaps before I start accusing one of our second rate no power congress members of trying to subvert the US government....

The FBI opened and closed the case pretty quickly....why do you suppose that is

She's gambling because she is leaning on the fact that state secrets privilege will never allow those tapes to see the light of day. And she'll win, too.

Because if Americans ever learned the truth, it would be Kristallnacht 2009 and you all know it.

Felix, the stimulus bill is unconstitutional on SO many levels, and fundamentally so, such that anyone in support of it either has an agenda, is a top-drawer dumbfuck.

By powers granted under our constitution, the fed gov has no authority to tax us for global warming research, mass transit, food stamps, national endowment for the arts, ... and on and ON and on ...

Nobody read the bill.
Do you think our -- representatives -- reading what they are voting on is fairly important?

... or not?

People in a given state will be taxed by the fed so that the money collected can be used in violation of that state's law.

Now that is some change we can believe in!!

lol

Oh ... but the state can refuse the money from the fed.

Goodie.

Are the people of the state not going to be taxed, anyway?

Your ability to think rationally and critically has somehow been stunted.

I'm a taxpaying American citizen in a foreign country on a visa.

Do you somehow struggle to comprehend that?

tart, the tax law abuses in the country are so fucked up it's crazy
by law, there's a shit load of things they can't LEGALLY tax us for, but have been doing so for years.....
Nobody read the bill.

absolutely, but the people in congress have no more idea of what is legal taxation than I do about performing open heart surgery

dude, if you think Obama is the first president that's implemented unfair taxes, you've got your head stuck way, way too far up your ass
Are the people of the state not going to be taxed, anyway?

no it hasn't....but I also know that's it been going on for so long you simply can't stop it

Obama is "just doing what they've all done before him" is the core of your defense of him.

You stand in support of abuse of power, abuse of the people.

Do you think there is any way America can repay the debt it has now rung up?

If so, how?

As I see it, only through heavy taxation or a greatly diminished standard of living can it ultimately be accomplished.

I'm not defending any tax abuse, but simply pointing out that it's so ingrained into America's psyche, they just don't know any better

but really did anybody with half a brain really think that these "teabag parties" were going to change anything?

the only way to stop it is to revolt en masse and quit paying taxes until the government agrees to stop using them for things they really aren't authorized to use them for.....you go first, I'll be right behind you

That story was pretty sad.

I wonder if any of the holdout creditors also own credit default swaps issued by AIG?

That's it. Be proud of your ignorant fucktardery. You might as well tatoo 'fuckwit' across your forehead while you're at it.
of course, if any of the holdouts that forced Chrysler into bankruptcy were fortunate enough to hold credit default swaps from AIG on their Chrysler investments, AIG would pay them at 100 cents on the dollar....sure beats the shit out of $0.33 on the dollar

of course, I'm almost positive that no investment firm would try and take advantage of the American taxpayers money in such a shameless manner....after all, they're the victims here

excuse me while I'm wiping the tears from my eyes

ah, the key sentence in the story you posted
After that came a denunciation of the objecting bondholders as “speculators” by Barack Obama in his news conference last Thursday.
by "speculators", he meant profiteers trying to take advantage of the American taxpayers money by holding out and forcing Chrysler into bankruptcy....if any of the firms that held out (which forced Chrysler into bankruptcy) are holding credit default swaps on their Chrysler investments issued by AIG, AIG will be paying the credit default swaps at 100% of their value with the bailout money the American taxpayers gave them...in other words tard, by holding out and forcing Chrysler to declare bankruptcy, any credit default swaps issued by AIG will be payable in full to any of the hedge fund companies holding such cds's....no wonder the companies that held out didn't want their names made public
mvscal wrote: Very impressive.

you're full of shit asswipe.....do a little homework then get back to me
Do you have any idea of the ramifications of this for ALL economic activity in the country?
oh holy jeezus, not economic activity, that could be the death of this country...

the biggest implication from this thing is that if the U.S. Bankruptcy Judge allows this to go through, it could have a severe negative impact on bankruptcy proceedings in this country IF, the ruling were adopted as a legal ruling in and of itself....secured creditors could ultimately be screwed over, but I think this particular case could be viewed as an "on necessity basis" rather than it being adopted as a rule of law...exceptions to law based on the merit of the exception are made all the time
