Corp was only a 5 star because he committed to USC. And Pete went pussy with young QB's after Chow left.

So, you've already forgotten the LSU-Washington game, and as we all know Iowa's just as good as either LSU or USC.

Alrighty then.
That's right............ LSU and USC have better programs so there's no way Iowa could possibly be the better team this year. :meds:

Gotta love USC fan. Doesn't know anything besides the teams ESPN jerks off to. Not very surprising.
He's succeeded at a recruiting hotbed like USC where others who enjoyed that same recruiting hotbed failed...because he can't coach.
He took over for Paul Hackett. As a Chiefs fan, I know all about this guy's act. He was a horrible coach. He wouldn't win anywhere.
He wins all those big games and beats the fuck out of your conference's 5 star loaded teams because he can't coach.
In fairness, USC has played almost all of those games in Los Angeles............with a lot more talent. The only game they came to Big-10 country, they needed a last minute score to win the game. And a couple of those games, USC didn't even face our top team in the Rose Bowl because Ohio State was playing in the national title game (2007 vs Illinois and 2006 vs Michigan).

Pete has not coached in one single game at USC where his team didn't have more talent than the opposition. He should be 84-10. You should beat inferior talent 8 out of 9.

Iowa's not even ranked. Somehow I don't think it's only ESPN who feel that USC and LSU are both significantly better than an Iowa team who should've lost at home to a lame D1-AA team.

USC has had better talent than its opponent for nearly the entire history of college football, yet Pete, who can't coach, has the greatest winning percentage both during the regular season and during his bowl games of any coach in USC history. He also has the best winning percentage of any current coach, with the best BCS bowl game record, despite the fact that USC is hardly the only team out there with dominating talent.

But Pete can't coach. Nope. He was an NFL DC, an NFL HC - with a winning record, a Division title and a playoff win - and the winningest coach in BTPCF, all because he can't coach.

You're a fucking idiot.
ja, i'm the fucking idiot since i made the statement you pretty much agree with.

iowa and lsu played recently, by the by. lsu was the 'better' team.

UNI is probably going to win the FCS title. They're not a lame 1-AA team. That was the first game. Since then, we've dismantled 2 BCS opponents- including a Pac-10 team.

Iowa not being ranked is a flat out joke and you know it.

FSU is ranked and they narrowly escaped a 1-AA team. So what's your point?

So only Iowa has to beat a good OOC team on the road to prove themselves? But no one else does?

Well, I guess there's only about 5 good teams this year........... :meds:

And why does it matter if this good opponent is OOC or in-conference? A good team is a good team. We gotta play at Penn State and Ohio State. Those are both good teams.

Washington, on the other hand, is NOT a good team. They will not win many more games this year.

speaking of carrol's recruiting... he's great at it, obviously, but van mentioned his predecessor's weren't able to recruit as effectively as he has. while i'd credit most of that statement to how well he does his job, certainly some if it is due his competition. ucla was an actual program before petey showed up in LA, so the guys before him actually had some competition. and udub was a pac 10 player on the national stage back in the day, so they were probably pulling their share of players from southern cal. but who else in the pac can make a claim to national relevance? SC's has been recruiting against ucla, stanford, and cal, as well as the occasional national power who picks off a player or two. oregon gets the leftovers. pretty favorable circumstances.

Darryl Clark guaranteeing victory. Good luck with that dude. Just remember, when you lose, you're going to become a legend in the state of Iowa, but not the good kind of legend. Jesse Smith of ISU was popping off a couple weeks ago. Now his words have come back to haunt him. Now Clark going to have his mouth shut if Iowa wins tomorrow. Rain in the forecast. Hope it doesn't affect the passing game. We gotta be able to throw. Penn State can't stop it. Might be another epic 6-4 battle if it rains heavily!

I was debating on what to do about this weekend. I need to go to San Francisco to pick up a guitar, and I never go to SF without making a full day of it.

My choices were...

-Go today, then go to the Giants game tonight to see Lincecum against Zambrano in what is now a pretty meaningless game. Doing this would allow me to watch all the CF tomorrow.

-Go tomorrow, so that I can see my favorite blues guy at my favorite blues club on the wharf. This option would be a lot cheaper than going to the Giants game. Originally though, I was thinking to myself, 'Yeah, but what about CF? You'll miss everything.'

Then I remembered - okay, a buddy reminded me - that I'd recently gotten a DVR player specifically so that I could record CF games.

So, okay, tomorrow at 5:00 I'll go to the Hooters right across the street from my blues bar, and I'll watch Penn St-Iowa there. That should take me right up until 9:00pm, when my guy's set begins in the blues club. Whenever I eventually get home I can watch the USC game I hopefully will have recorded correctly. I've yet to use the damn thing, so this will be my maiden attempt, and hopefully I won't have screwed up and accidentally recorded some nonsense like CSI: Bakersfield or Live, from Topeka: Pro Lesbian Softball.

Being old and dumber than dirt though, I'm not exactly counting on it. I'll probably tune in, only to find myself watching blocky assed future ACLU lawyer bitches wearing visors as they turn the double play.

No, Iowa isn't flying all the way to Seattle and beating this year's Washington team. They might beat 'em in Iowa City, but not in Seattle.
