my hat is off to HFal and cornhusker and danimal ....after the last few years, i don't know what i was thinking that missouri could actually win a game or cover.

Win or lose, I'll still be here.

What a turn of events... this is less than stellar.

Suh definitely was the difference. He single-handedly injured Gabbert, who's been slow ever since. Pass breakups, sacks and an interception.

Oh, and Lee finally getting the rust worked off that throwing shoulder. I was already thinking they were going to have to sack him after this game for Green. Not sure that happens now, but with some time off and a schedule of not-as-tough games, I'd be very surprised if Cody Green doesn't get a lot of time at QB. If he Lee lasts the season as starter, he won't be the starter come next year.

don't blame me for racking you up on your smack a few years ago. maybe the best team MU has had in 25 years could have beat a decent, but not great OU team to shut me up.

and then we pounded you two times again after you were talking all kinds of smack. lol at you Mizzou. and i think you are about to lose at home to Nebraska.

and you wonder why we laugh at you.

This reminds me of the NU/CU game in 1990. NU had a 12-0 lead going into the fourth quarter. CU scores 27 in the fourth to win 27-12.

Props to Bugaha...they hung around and FINALLY took advantage of Mizzou's mistakes. Suh is a fucking STUD and will be picked EARLY in the NFL draft next year at the level he's playing.

Hopefully young Mr.Gabbert learned a few things from this game and will be better for learning them the hard way. It wasn't like we had any shot at the National Championship this year anyway.

P.S.- Zac Lee STILL sucks ass and will lose you more games all by himself, Bugaha.

The O struggled for way too long and in the horrid punt-game we saw the goofs that have cost us games before. But the D was money and the O woke-up just in time. The guys kept getting after it and good things happened, they got finally got the big road game monkey off their backs. I'm happy for them.

I'm really excited to see what our D will be like in the years to come, should be nasty.

The O still isn't clicking against real competition. I'd like to see more vertical passing-game and Lee running. I did like that we were able to grind-out yards late when Mizzou knew clock-killing runs were coming. Ya the field conditions blew but three quarters of NOTHING? That will usually get you a L.

I really think Dobson's S&C makes a difference, we've become a much better second-half and especially 4th-quarter team under him.

We're still far from back but overall I think we're headed in a positive direction.

shawn watson still sucks and "grinding it out" against Missouri is like water running down some feature of a Frank Lloyd Wright house.

everybody can run against Missouri and water falls.

still, good win for the Bugeaters.

I just saw the box score. NU scored all 27 of their points in the 4th quarter? In a driving rain? Way to sack up on D, Mizzou.

Just when was it Mizzou has ever had a shot at a NC?

Sincerely,
#1 IN THE NATION at the end of the regular season

Exactly what is the difference between Mizzou and Cal? Neither team ever met a big game they didn't lose, usually in quite inglorious fashion.

Mizzou = Cal, only with less NFL talent.

The regular season is differentiated by bowl season. The regular season encompasses conference championship games, for those conferences which have them. So, no, Mizzou was not #1 following the regular season. By the time bowl season arrived Mizzou had lost - again - to OU, just as practically everybody knew they would. By the time bowl season had arrived Mizzou had pissed away their one and only shot at ever doing anything on the national stage.

the chubby penis OU has stuck in Missouri's backside to the tune of beatdown over the Chase Daniel's years makes me wonder about MU fan.

i could have lined up at I back and run for 100 yards against those Pinkel D's. still they run shit at OU. OU is lucky we don't play Mizzou this year. we suck, but we'd still beat Missouri.

Well, it WOULD require that we score fourth quarter points...
we may suck right now....but

dude, me and you, SCS, and skull could line up in OU helmets and beat Mizzou many of the best years of great MU football.

they had the chance.

hell, i've defended Gary Pnkel more than most M-I-Z-fams over the years.

B-t-H, the CCG is not a bowl game. It's the conclusion to the regular season, wherein the regular season champion is crowned.

It's not a different season, like the conference tourneys for hoops, wherein some team who finished fifth in their own division can still 'win' the conference; completely obviating the regular season. No, a CCG is simply the concluding - and usually unnecessary and completely farcical - game to the regular season...

...and Mizzou never wins it.

I don't know, BtH, Van may be right for once.

It may be semantics, but correct me if I am wrong. The BCS polls change AFTER the CCG and are final for the last time then and only then. From that point on, it is just the Coaches and AP poll. Coaches will award to crystal football. AP will attempt to be political if at all possible and stray from the BCS rules. So, seeing as though the polls change after CCG week, I, personally, consider it part of the regular season.

Then there's the rule that a team can only play 12 games in the regular season (13 if travelling to Hawaii). That being said, I can see the other side of the argument.

Either way, it is a dumb thing to argue about. And you know damn well Van will post in this thread arguing with you until one of 3 things happen. You quit. You die. He dies.

B-t-H, minus the CCG, go ahead and link me up to last season's Big XII regular season champion - or the SEC's, for that matter. I'll take any NCAA link you wish to provide.

See, there won't be one. No conference champion of the regular season had been crowned yet for those conferences, because the regular season wasn't yet concluded.

Was that concise enough for ya'?

A conference championship game is (obviously) a conclusion to the regular season, if applicable, but it is not considered a "regular" season game. Why this is being discussed in a forum of cfb brainiacs I have no idea.

They don't have a regular season champion until they play that stupid CCG. Period.

The bowl season doesn't begin until that regular season champion is determined, which is contingent on the CCG. Period.

You have bowl season, and you have the regular season, where the champions are determined for bowl season slotting. The CCGs are merely the final component of the regular season.

Unlike hoops, there are no CCG champions who aren't the regular season champs. Can't happen, because they're one and the same.

There are two seasons in CF: the regular season, and bowl season. What, are you saying there's also "CCG season," independent of the regular season?

Fucking stupid.

Nevermind, I don't care what you have to say.

Post game and post depression thoughts on what happened last night, in a nutshell:

Nebraska came to play for 60 minutes, my Tiggers, 45.

The more physical team thumped my team when it mattered most.

Hopefully, something can be gained from that 4th qtr. beatdown but at this point, I don't know what that would be.

My hat is off to Bo Pelini... great job turning a storied program around in such a short time.
