USC's turn now...

USC opening up with easy yardage, moving into Oregon territory...

FUCK!! Barkley and Ayles can't hook up on an easy TD!
Goddammit, I wish McCoy was there. The timing is off.

Barkley with an NFL throw, to convert that first down...

Ayles doesn't look like he's the athlete McCoy is...that second throw was on Barkley but he should've had that third down play before.

The baseball game is about to start but I'll be sure to check in on this one...good stuff so far.

Another false start...That's four so far...
Second and 11...
Bad call, and McKnight is swallowed up well behind the line.
Third and long...
McKnight gets most of it, on a well executed screen.. 4th and short, from around the thirty...
McKnight converts.
First down, on the 25...

Time out, USC, on second and six...
This is a huge drive. USC hasn't shown yet that they can stop Oregon, and Oregon really hasn't stopped USC either. USC needs to convert here, and keep it close going into halftime, where hopefully they can make some defensive adjustments up front. So far, Masoli has too much time. Nowhere near enough defensive penetration.

All about the O-ffenses tonight...nice drive by the Trojans.

Another falst start...
Fuck. That's five. Now it's second and forever.
No matter. Barkley with a major league throw, to convert the first down.
Hold on. There's a flag, on the far side of the field...
Face mask. Penalty is declined. First down USC. Barkley is shredding Oregon. Oregon is getting no pressure on him.
McKnight down to the 5. McKnight limps off...
TD, Barkley to Williams! Autzen is silenced....for the moment.
Barkley looks amazing. He's already beginning to look like Sanchez, towards the end of last season. The O-line is just demolishing Oregon's D.
17-17.

Get the feeling neither D has seen Os like these?
Now it's Oregon's turn, with 3:17 to go in the half. A stop here would be...nice.

Or, maybe USC will just let Oregon score so quickly that they'll get the ball back in time to score again themselves.
Masoli runs for 900 yards, with USC AGAIN just assuming he'll go down, rather than finishing the tackle.
The Oregon O-line is crushing the USC front four.
USC stops 'em on first down, then Masoli keeps it for another long one.
Gawd, I hate running QBs! HATE 'EM!!
It's raining now...
TD, Oregon, in about four seconds!
24-17, Oregon.
Pete is PISSED AND PEEVED!
Oregon about to kick off, with 1:49 remaining in the half. A TD would be nice, but they need to at least get a FG out of this, and they definitely need to not turn it over.

Oregon finally gets a sack. First time either D got anything on either QB.
USC now in danger of giving up the ball, with time on the clock.
Yep. They're punting, with :48 remaining. Oregon will get the ball back, deep in their own territory.
USC can't give up any more points here, especially with Oregon getting the ball to start the second half.

What's scary is that Oregon looks very capable of scoring in :48.

Great punt. Great tackle.
Oregon ball on their own 29, with :39 remaining, and two timeouts left.

Quite the contrast in tempos...Ducks-Trojans at a break-neck pace and Pettitte working super slow on the mound. That half inning took forever.

Hooo, shit! Everson Griffen being led off the field, unable to put any weight on his left knee. THAT would be disastrous, if he's seriously hurt.

USC holds them to a three and out. Barring any bizarre shit, this one will stay 24-17, heading into halftime.
Whew. That was one fast first half.
Both Ds got obliterated, with USC completely unable to contain Masoli on broken plays.
Dins is no weatherman. It's raining, just like they said it would.

That's Oregon Sunshine... just a heavy mist-fall... doesn't make shit too slippery... still clear in Portland, and is supposed to stay that way, so probably won't be any significant precip in Eugene, either... but you never know.
This sucker is living up to the hype, eh?
I don't think either team has seen the likes of what the other has brought to the table tonight... ya' hear me, pollsters?

Masoli opens up with plenty of time, and an easy pass.
And another one...
Looking like more of the same. At a certain point here, USC is going to have to swallow the pill by selling out at the line to take away Masoli's gaps, risking one on one elsewhere. They can't keep giving him so much time to read.
Holy shit, USC actually held.
Oh, wait. No, they didn't. Oregon went for it, on fourth and 3, and they made it.
Everson Griffen is back in. That's good.

The best thing to happen to Oregon... was Blount being suspended.

Second and fifteen, Masoli rolls out, buys time, and finds a man.
Oregon back in the red zone again. Oregon's O is just unstoppable, still.
This is the worst tackling I may have ever seen from USC. They are simply assuming tackles, on contact.
4th and 6. Oregon's gotta go for a chipshot FG here...
Good. 27-17 Oregon.
Big drive by Oregon, to re-establish their dominance on O, and get points out of it too.
First time this season USC is down by more than one score. They have to answer.
Commercial break...
EAT MY ASS, JIMMY DOUCHEBALL! GET THE FUCK OFF MY TV!!

Crappy run, then another false start. The false starts are really piling up, and once again USC is beginning their drives with penalties.
They can't keep doing that. Eventually, one of those second or third and longs will result in a pick, or a sack and a fumble.
But they convert it again, as McKnight breaks a long one...

USC driving, reaching the Oregon 24...
Third and long again...
Finally, a third and long hurts them. They misfire.
39 yard FG attempt...
Good. USC answers Oregon's FG with one of their own.
27-20 Oregon.
USC's injuries are piling up, and taking their toll. Their C, TE and FB have not played, and the O is suffering from a lack of weapons up the middle as a result. They lack the big plays, many of which would be Havili's and, especially, McCoy's.
The O is still doing well enough anyway though. It's the D that needs to step up.

Oregon's execution on O is just superb. Their reads are deadly. Masoli's are deadly, and James is reading his blockers perfectly. He's making the right cut, every time.
Oregon is putting on an offensive clinic.

It ain't over yet, since Oregon isn't exactly stopping USC's O either.
USC needs something big to go their way though. They need a big fumble, a Pick Six, a special teams turnover or long return...something. They need something to disrupt this Oregon rhythm.

Easy P.I. call there...

USC driving again. Up to midfield. Score a TD here and this quarter is even, and it's still a one score game, same as halftime.
Haaa! Barkley gets sacked, and as he's going down he again thinks about doing a stupid shovel pass, but finally thinks better of it.
Oregon is now sending everyone, giving up on defending the run to stop the pass...
It works, and Oregon gets away with a face mask penalty.
USC has to punt. This is the ballgame. Either USC holds here or it's over.

James got his career high in the 3rd quarter...Masoli also over 100 and I believe you were telling me we couldn't just run it on you?
