Ballgame.
Condolences to Iowa. Shitty way to go down. Sure would've been nice to see them have all their people as they made their attempt to run the table.
Yes, their injuries played an enormous role in this loss.

They were so thin at RB and losing Stanzi was huge; however, this team never really belonged in the MNC discussion.

Agreed. There was no time this season where someone could watch an Iowa game and honestly say, "This is a top five team."
Their luck finally ran out.

Props to this Iowa team and James Vandenberg. I know they lost but they put up a hell of a fight. 13 straight wins- not too shabby. This is a resilient bunch and they've battled all year through an enormous amount of injuries. But we've had just 1 too many. I think we have almost no shot next week if Stanzi can't go. Even if he does, we're still thin on players. Was a great ride though. If we finish 9-3, so be it. Still been a fun year. There isn't a team in America that could play through the losses we've had and yet we're still 9-1. Hell of a run Hawks! Now let's go out and get to a good bowl game and win it. And to Vandenberg- keep your head up. This was not your fault.

What Van said. I hate to see Iowa's run come to an end like that. I hope they can still get to the Rose Bowl. No offense to the Buckeyes and JoePas on this board who are universally good guys. I have some family members who are huge Hawkeye fans so I always like to see Iowa do well.

Jon and Mace, I really do feel badly for you guys. You have to swallow this one, ruining your dream season, and you didn't have the opportunity to go down with all your guns blazing. That's just a really unfortunate way to go down. That's no way to have it end.
Again, condolences. You guys deserved better.

I am gonna flip shit if I turn on the call-in show and hear people ripping on Vandenberg.

Vandenberg looked decent, and what more could one realistically expect from a freshman with nearly no game experience, and not much of a running game to speak of? In that situation, the kid needed to be able to rely on his running game to give him short yardage, high percentage passing situations. Instead, the kid was forced into mostly low percentage throws.
No blame to the kid.

I'm not even sure I can stomache SoundOff today. You know the tards are gonna claim Vandenberg blows and they should go with Wienke next week. It will piss me off. I can only imagine what Iowa State fans are saying on the message boards right now. I doubt they even care what happens in their game. There's probably burning couches in Ames. Just got a text from an ISU fan that said "frauds exposed". Never gonna hear the end of this from Clown fans.

You gotta understand, nobody melts harder than a lot of our fans after a loss. No, this isn't Vandenberg's fault, but that won't stop the Jihads from going off on him. They're the minority of our fan base but they're very vocal. They know more than the coaches. John Wienke shoulda played today cuz Vandenberg struggled. They KNOW he woulda done better. Just ask them, they'll tell you.

Fuck Iowa, if USC had all of their people healthy they would have ran the table too. Injuries happen and looks like there may still be a shot at an iowa-USC BCS Bowl if Penn State or Ohio State gets the Rose bid.

pretty sure you could add OU to the list of "if" as well.
