Oregon State might be a test, but that trip to VT should be something. If they can win those two games and go undefeated, that might get them higher than this year (with a little help from some of the other big conference teams losing). I was impressed with them tonight. Like Van said - I saw that Fresno game, and their D was awful at that point, but they made some serious fucking adjustments....
well at least they're trying to strengthen their out of conference schedule, too bad so many BCS schools pansied out at the chance to play them....
WAC commissioner Karl Benson said Tuesday that several high-profile programs have turned down a chance to play a home game against Boise State in 2011.
Boise State — with help from ESPN, Benson said — has been shopping for a game to fill out its 2011 schedule.
Benson wasn't sure of the exact number of schools that had said no, but figured it was close to 10. The Broncos weren't asking for any games in Boise in return, he said.
"They're running into a situation where nobody will schedule them, nobody will take them," Benson said.
hmmm, everybody complains they don't play anybody, but when they have an open spot, suddenly everybody's dance card is full...yeah yeah, I know about scheduling in advance, but BSU's open slot was flexible, and it would be the perfect opportunity for a power conference team to slap them back to reality...so what's the problem?
They contacted Oklahoma but there was a conflict about something... Can't accuse of us of avoiding anyone either. We play at least one major game OOC every season that is usually a home and home series. Next year we have a game at Cincinnati (return trip), Florida State at home (opening a HandH series), and Air Force at home (return trip after years of them avoiding it and pushing it back).

Wow, Boise is priming itself for a possible run at the MNC game next year. It's all about starting position, and an undefeated season this year + returning most of its starters = top 5 poll positioning next year. You couple that with the fact it'll play two good teams out of conference...so if it can go undefeated it's got a glimmer of hope.
just a couple of things/coincidences I noticed last night
the head referee was the same guy that was the head referee in BSU's last Fiesta Bowl victory
BSU wore the same exact color scheme they wore when they beat Oklahoma in 2007, and it was the first time this year they wore orange pants in any game....
I think that may become their go to color scheme if they play in another BCS bowl and are given the choice
